MINNEAPOLIS (AP)—Kevin Love(notes) grabbed a franchise-record 31 rebounds and scored 31 points, the NBA’s first 30-30 game in 28 years, and the Minnesota Timberwolves rallied from a 21-point, third-quarter deficit to stun the New York Knicks 112-103 on Friday night.

Love grabbed 15 boards in the third quarter alone to will the Timberwolves to victory. Moses Malone was the last player to do it with 32 points and 38 rebounds for Houston against Seattle in 1982.
Michael Beasley(notes) had 35 points and six rebounds for the Wolves, who won their second game in a row in thrilling fashion.
Danilo Gallinari(notes) scored 25 points, but only seven in the second half for the Knicks, who lost their fourth consecutive game and had no answer for Love’s dominance in the second half.

Damn.. Remember when I said he was going to be a great draft pick a couple years back? Wow... People said he wouldn't be able to board in the NBA.. He has a knack for it though, and I knew he would be fine :)

!!!!! I WANT LOVE!!!

Got a chance to watch the third and fourth quarters and man... The guy was just unstoppable.

It's unreal what he did. I must admit though, it's hard to believe it's been almost 30 years since the last time someone put up 30/30 with some great players that were around such as Karl Malone, Hakeem, Rodman. Only problem with Rodman is he couldn't score so it would be tough for him to get 30 pts. Kudos to K. Love though, I am sure we won't see a 30/30 performance again in a long long time. You would think a guy like D. Howard would be able to accomplish one of these feats, time will tell he still has plenty left in the tank.

I'm not sure whether I would want Kevin Love on my team or not. Points and rebounds can be empty numbers, especially if he's taking rebounds away from teammates. It's a great accomplishment no doubt, but the stats themselves are not bigger than the game. The reason Kevin Love is still playing limited minutes is that you need the right bigman to team with him to make up for his deficiencies and Minnesota doesn't really have that guy. They already gave up on Al Jefferson because he didn't fit well with Love and I think Jefferson was the better scorer and better defender (though he's not great on that end either).

You're right; we're much better off with Landry. At least we never have to worry about him taking rebounds from his teammates...

Look who runs that team.... Love is better than anyone else they have by far.

I think 30-30 was a huge accomplishment. I was just pointing out that overall I'm not sure if Love's strengths outweigh his weaknesses. Of course if he puts up 30-30 every game, or something close to it, I'll have to admit that I was wrong.
