Yeah, for some other team...We're bad...But we arnt 76ers or Celtics bad.

6ers have actually been playing well lately and there's no guarentee that Boston gets the 1st or 2nd pick. Honestly we are right up there depending on which team of ours shows up. This draft has multiple guys who will be franchise players, we could use 1. Might as well rebuild.

Durant is the only player worthy of tanking for in this draft. That guy will be, maybe, the greatest player of his era. He's that good. I would take Durant over Oden, personally.

I cannot for the life of me figure out why people think we have zero shot. HELLO???? We have like the 7th worst record in the leage...giving us roughly an 11% shot to get one of the first two picks, which would guarantee us Durant or Oden.

Since when is 11% zero?

since when people have an agenda.

FOR REAL!!!

It's that kind of negative attitude thats going jinx us, damn it...

Plus we have another half season to go, I have a feeling at some point they will go on a winning streak, still fall short of the playoffs and then we're screwed.

Then we'll be in the same position next year.

You are acting as if 11% is like having a 90% chance of moving into the top 2 spots of the draft. Get real dude!
What are you talking about? What would you rather have? An 11% chance of getting Oden or Durant, a 20% chance, a 28% chance a 38% chance or a 46% chance?

If you think an 11% chance is better than a 46% chance I have a bridge I'd like to sell you.

that was a heck of a game last night played by Durant. This kid is unbelievable. To get a 30-20 game is just unheard of in college. I'm starting to like him more than Oden. I like the rumor of bibby and artest to cleveland because that would give us an even better chance at one of the top 2 picks.

Greg basicly plays with ONE hand and it's not like he's sucking out there. :)
Kevin's D is flat out bad right now. Go figure.

a ton of factors together could put us within the top 5 easily. the teams still above (below) us are (ascending suckiness ranking): atlanta, charlotte, seattle, phili, celts, and the grizz.

charlotte just got cp4 back. theyve been stuck with tons of injuries. with him back, i expect their wins to go up, as they continue to get their team back to form from last year.

celtics WILL win more once pierce returns. theyre also in the east, and therefore have more games against east teams.

the grizzlies just got gasol back, and barring a tank of the season with the trade of gasol, they can surely do better than they have so far.

and, were only 2 games out of the 4th worst spot in the league. i dont know the ball odds, but ill take it.

:D I will say somethign right now....

Making these kids go to college is the best move the NBA made in a LONG time. It gives them an extra year to play against better competition (rather than play against a HS that has a 6-3 guy playing PF or something and putting up 50 on him).

Plus the college game gives them a chance to see if they can handle the crowds, and pressure. Nobody is more passionate (outside of Kings fans) than the college fan. :D

It also critically lets the fans (i.e. us) get a look at these kids, get excited about them, have something other than some anonymous scouts ranting to go on. That's both good for college (the interest peaks again -- I have rarely bothered watching in the last decade because anybody with real talent was already gone) and good for the NBA where fans can be having these discussions and players come into the league with a real following.

Here's a good article (semi-off-topic, but glance it over) on the tanking efforts of 3 other teams. I found it refreshing that major sports writers are now acknowledging that those teams really are tanking for the draft.

4th place is a realistic possibility, and gets one an 11.9% shot at first pick. Failing that, chances at 2nd pick may be as high as 15.9%, and 21.6% for 3rd pick. Not quite a cumulative 50-50 chance of getting a top-3, but close.

4th??? C'mon, go for the gold, man. "We're no. 1! We're no. 1!" ;)

knowing us, no 1 would get us the 4th pick. its odd, but history hasnt been favorable for the bottom seed in the nba draft. 1st or 2nd draft pick doesnt matter to me. i wouldnt know what to do with the 3-5th picks. wright, noah, horford, etc.

You mean New Orleans when you say Charlotte right? Anyway, I agree with you. We're not that much better than these teams who have been plagued by injuries. Once Seattle gets Lewis back, Pierce gets back, and New Orleans gets healthy those guys will win more games. We've been pretty healty and we're still almost as bad as these teams.

With the talent level we have right now, a 1-2 pick would get us back in the playoffs imo. That's how good those two are (Oden/Durant)..

You know what would kick some butt...???? We get that mid 20s first rounder in a trade, and pick Nick Frazekas from UNR. That guy can friggin play, and he is one intelligent guy on the floor. The guy is actually book smart as well as being court smart. nbadraft.net shows Utah liking him... You know what a guy like that can do in Sloans system? dang.... I wish we got a guy like that. Hard worker, and damn good player.

he could be like a vladrad with a brain. not much potential as others, but we could use a big lights out shooter.
