Keon Tyrese Ellis

Wow, so is this whole misprinting of Keon Ellis' height thing going to follow him for his whole career? Does no one bother to fact-check anymore?
It is so weird that he’s pretty much the one player in the league listed at his height without shoes throughout league media.

And it's his measured barefoot height rounded down by half an inch too so he's losing two inches compared to (most) everyone else's official height listing.

Yeah, it's one thing to be listed at your barefoot combine height. It's another to have that be rounded down. In normal NBA terms Keon should be listed as 6'5".

Keon still leads the team in +/- per 36 minutes. He also leads in Net Rating, and it is not even close: 12.3 for Keon Ellis to 8.4 for Domantas Sabonis.

Everyone here was talking in preseason about what a great compliment to the starting unit he makes. Too bad Coach Brown and his brain trust lack confidence in his abilities. Perhaps after Ellis' explosion in the last game, they might see things differently.

Yeah, as president of the Huerter club on the forum, I've always still been "start Keon" since he showed us his impact last season. I understand why Brown stuck with Huerter... but that argument goes out the window when Huerter is only at 30% from 3. He honestly needs to be 40%+ to justify holding off Keon. And while Huerter has made significant strides in improving the rest of his game, his primary value remains with his shooting.

The Kings jumped from somewhere in the bottom to the top 10 in the league once Keon was introduced as a starter last year. Keon harassed Steph Curry and had his breakout party in the play-in last year and helped us send the Warriors home. Somehow, these performances were "forgotten" and he gets yanked around like a scrub this year. Then again, I remember that Davion was "forgotten" for Game 7 couple of years ago and Steph promptly dropped 50 to send us home packing.

The Kings are not going far without a good defense as had been proved repeatedly the last two seasons. Yet, we continue to underplay our best defenders and wonder why our offense isn't working and play more chuckers. If you are taking the ball out from under the basket every time, you're going against a set defense and your offensive efficiency drops. We know what doesn't work and what works. If an offensive explosion is what it takes to play Keon, so be it.

Yes, unfortunately you ARE that person.

I saw your other post. I wasn't in some "gotcha" bs. I was merely referring to you taking umbrage with me calling Heurter (in the role Mike Brown forced him into) as garbage.

Keon should replace Heurter. That much is almost universal (we will see what Brown thinks tomorrow of course but I'd wager Heurter still has some leash on the position to the detriment of the team).

Ngl I have always respected you as a poster on here but the Heurter defense was too much for me to stomach. I 100% believe Heurter is a phenomenal option off the bench, BEHIND KEON. I think he would be great going against bench players with a green light to shoot and drive and do red-headed velvet things.

I think the Kings are better suited with Keon playing between Fox and Derozan. And I think all, every single one of the numbers, back that up.

I also think Keon starting allays some pressure off of Keegan on the wings. I would be interested in a hard reset of this season having Keon starting and what it would mean for Murray offensively. Murray looked very comfortable getting to his spots in the preseason before Brown ****ed crap up and started Heurter.

Apart from Keon being the 3rd best shooter in corner3s, I think Matthews most corner 3s must have been in the 2 matches vs Kings and HB being in the list is kind of weird since he wasn't so efficient last year for sure
Keegan has 14/45 corner 3s (31%), Fox 6/20 (30%), Monk has 9/12 (5/5 from the left corner), Keon has 19/35
This is kind of cool site, you can see the shot chart for every player -> https://shotcreator.com/player/nba/GENpt6VUh2I

Ellis was +32 in 21 minutes off the bench tonight, with 3 assists and 4 steals. He only scored 4 points.

Thus far this season, after 24 games, among rotation players, Ellis ranks:

1st in net rating
1st in defensive rating
1st in 3P%
1st in +/- per 36 minutes
2nd in TS%
2nd in steals per 36 minutes
2nd in blocks per 36 minutes

Mike Brown may not be very impressed, but I sure am.

Whoever is their head of analytics needs to bang Brown over the head with these stats

Yea, i don’t often question Mike Brown, but I’m not sure what his deal is with Keon Ellis. Just play the guy wtf - and why don’t the media in sac ever question his reasoning for these things? Not saying they should be combative or start any mess, but i really won’t ever see the logic in Keon getting DNPs. We win that Laker game if he played in it and i can’t wait to destroy them in back to back games this month @ home.

Actually someone did ask him a couple days if he had an issue with Keon and he said "No, he just didn't play"

Counterpoint: Keon had a couple of weeks before his DNP-CD and garbage minutes games where he had been putting up some pretty lackluster play, bad decisions on offense, defense wasn't really fully there.

Could be he just had a bad stretch, could be he had lingering cold, or who knows, could be he started to feel comfortable in his minutes and started to coast. Kinda seems the way it played out it might have been the latter, and Brown was sending him a message that he's not good enough to coast in this league. If last night was any indication, the message was received.

Good, if that were the case.

More likely that Mike Brown received the message that not playing your defenders leads to losses.

So many bad starts to these games recently? To me it appears like bad defense and too many offense players on the floor to start the games. Why is Keon Ellis not starting and playing 30+ minutes at the 2 spot? It balances the team on the defensive side of the ball so much better than Red Velvet or Monk. Then Monk and Red can lead the bench. Also Keegan then does not have to guard every top offensive threat the Kings face.

It is madness Keon has barely been seen in the last two games!!!! What the HECK is wrong with Mike Brown? I'm losing (have lost?) my confidence in Coach.

What could possibly be the reason for not playing Ellis? Most fans thought it a forgone conclusion that Ellis would start at the 2.
Now here we are on the brink of another lost season and MB sits Ellis.
WTF???
