Keon Clark

Just wondering the status of Keon Clark?

No, I'm not thinking 'wouldn't it be nice to have him back on the Kings?' But I am thinking that he was supposed to go to trial in 2006 on a couple of felony counts, and I don't recall ever hearing what happened.

Anyone know the story?

p.s. Every time someone complains on this board about Spencer Hawes' vertical leap, I'm tempted to bring up Keon Clark - who had a tremendous 40" vertical leap - despite having calves the size of a donut hole.

Actually he will be sentenced sometime this month. The sentence has a maximum of 5 years. So Keon will be seeing jail time. I'd guess about 2 years worth.

He smoked too much reefer and did too much cocaine. It's a shame dude messed up his whole life. If he kept playing the way he did, someone would have gave him a nice contract.

like the phoenix suns. the team whose training camp he didnt show up for. i heard his dad killed a man over a bicycle

Keon Clark is 32. By the time he gets out of prison he'll be around 35. Clark would not have played basketball in over 5 years except with fellow inmates at the pen. The dudes ancient history as they say.

I'd say I enjoyed the way Keon played for the Kings. He's a great player and all, but he decided to go a different path.

He openly admitted that NBA was a waste of his life, and he can't believe how all the NBA players waste time and life playing basketball when they can spend that much more time with their families.

He also said he earned a good 8 million dollars in his NBA career and will NOT come back to the league.

It's a shame his potentual got wasted, he really was growing to be something nice in the league.

Yeah, he went a different path all right. He's proof "denial" isn't just a river in Egypt.

He didn't quit the NBA to spend more time with his family. The NBA finally gave up on him because of his habitual drug use and related destructive (primarily to himself) behavior.

The idea that he just wanted to be an All-American Dad or something makes me want to hack up my spleen.

Guys like Corliss Williamson and Lawrence Funderburke? They're success stories on and off the court. They managed to have good solid families and good NBA careers.

Keon Clark is his own worst enemy. He may have earned $8 million but, much like Mike Tyson, it's all gone now.
