Kenny Thomas for Jamal Magloire?

Ha, I was just gonna post that link in a thread below... indeed, it is nice to see being talked about, after it looked like a KT for Bucks big deal was mostly off with Villanueva there.

I'd absolutely love to see us get Magloire. Just would need to get one more defensive big after that and we'd be set in the front-court......Lorenzen Wright, can play C or PF with his abilities, Petrie wanted him last summer, Musselman knows him from their 2 seasons in Memphis.

- Deal with Bonzi
- Back-up PG will take care of itself

Off-season? I'd say so.

2004 slam dunk champ Fred Jones just one of the possibilities for the Bucks as they look to trade center Jamaal Magloire.

GM Larry Harris met with team owner Senator Herb Kohl today and a trade with the Pacers for the high flying guard, just one of several deals talked about.

Plenty of trade rumors surrounding a deal with Washington. The only one that makes sense is for big man Etan Thomas, who the Bucks signed to an offer sheet 2 years ago only to watch the Wizards match it.

The Bucks have also talked to the Hawks about Josh Childress, a 6'8" swingman who hasn't lived up to his potential.

And Harris has discussed a possible trade with the Kings for rugged big body Kenny Thomas.

Stay tuned for details.

How about them apples?

If we had to include Garcia, I wouldn't mind getting David Noel back, at all. I loved him at UNC, and will be a solid two-way swingman and quite a nice role-player. 6'6" 230, athletic freak, with multiple skills.

If they do the Washington deal, that blows two of our options for bigs, right out of the water ;).

I would be surprised if they are not all over the Childress deal...the guy has potential and a friendly contract

Kenny Thomas only has 4 years remaining on his contract. Hoopshype has in error added an extra year to his deal at the exact same amount as the previous year.
Childress would be the deal that would make the most fiscal sense.
With Thomas, imo, the Bucks win more basketball games. Thomas is indeed a better player than Josh Childress and is ALSO an efficient scorer (50%fg) and a far superior rebounder. The Bucks need some toughness/aggressiveness in the frontcourt and Thomas certainly can provide that.
With Thomas on board, the Bucks would be better off trading Joe this offseason for depth at the 2/3.....Fred Jones? Maybe even Josh Childress if we're lucky. Now if the Kings would take Joe's expiring deal for Thomas (a good possibility since they really are looking to dump his salary), then the Bucks would still be able to offer Mags to Atlanta for Childress.
Kenny Thomas AND Childress are both within the realm of possibility.

^^^^man they are loving thomas over there.... please trade thomas to the bucks.... for anyone....

There is a reason why the Bucks would take KT for Magloire. That's because KT might be better. Look up their stats as starters, the only thing Magloire does significantly better is that he block an extra half-shot a game. Magloire does play C, and they are harder to find, but on talent alone, It's pretty even.

The real key IMO is that Mag's a FA next year. Trading a 1 yr contract for a very bad contract.

BINGO!!!

If we could get rid of that contract I would be ecstatic. Shareef is a better player than Thomas and he needs to start. We all know how Kenny feels about coming off the bench.....

Fred Jones is a FA and not worth the price to get a deal done, Childress won't work straight up, so we just have to worry about Washington. Etan has the smaller contract, but isn't as impressive stat wise compared to Kenny.

If Milwaukee does this deal with us, it'll be like Christmas in July. I knew there was a reason why they changed their team colors to what it is now.

In the right situation, Kenny can be very good. It would be a great score for us, but not really a serious screwing for Milwaukee. This could be a nice win-win.

it would be great for the kings.

1)gives us 2 centers that can play
2)cap relief if we decided to let magloire walk
3)trade Bee-Rad and keep magloire after resigning him
4)sign and trade him if he doesn't work out
5)get rid of that malcontent KT

Atlanta is under the cap so the deal will work.....I just can't see why they would want to get rid of Childress already.

Heh, indeed.

I don't know why the Bucks would want Childress... they already have Redd/Simmons/Noel/Illyasvoa/Villanueva (play at SF sometimes) to play the wings.

By the way....I checked and Thomas' contract on Hoopshype is incorrect and they did add another year to it. He technically has "only" 4 years left and not the 5 that is on the site.

I would take KT for Mags in a heartbeat. Even if we had to throw in Douby, or Garcia. That's how much I want that guy (which must be a lot becaus eI never like to throw in young guys for anything).

I would be hesitant to just "throw in" Garcia. Especially considering Magloire would be here one year and then adios!

Of course I don't see the Bucks doing it any other way. If we added Garcia to the deal that would be better than any other deal mentioned.
