Kenny/Corliss for Odom/Cook?

To be quite honest do we have a number one option? Do we need a "number one option"? Can we trade to get a "number one option"? Even better why is the sky blue? Oh yeah, I forgot that one was discussed to death earlier in the season, scratch that one off.

Well for now it would be hard to pick a clear number one option in this crown=d... seems to change from day to day, but ideal the team could look to Pedja as a number one option with Cat as a second option as much as I would love to see Brad step up as a second or even third option Im just not convinced he has it in him. Kenny can score and if the oppisition is short enough he can dominate. then there is Bibby. I love his game, and I love the way he constatnly steps up but a team who is led in scoreing by it's PG has HUGE problems (insert Orlando here) of course with a team stacked with offensive weapons pecking order is realy not that important.

Pecking order is pretty important. You can have all the stacked talent you want, but who's the one player that gets the ball with 2 seconds left on the clock for the game-tying/game-winning shot? Who's the guy that should get the ball when we need buckets down the stretch.

The main issue that the Kings' offence has isn't that it's slow, or poor, or anything of that nature. It's that the entire team can tend to get cold at the most inopportune times. If there was a go-to player that we could count on to be selfish at certain times and make things happen when the rest of the team isn't shooting or scoring well, it would make the Kings a better player down the stretch.

But I digress, neither Odom nor Cook really is that kind of player.

Not sure I'd equate pecking order with clutch play. I have no problem with letting Pedja take 25-30 shots a game to lead the tema in scoring, but I don't think I want him taking a clutch shot with 2 seconds left on the clock.

JerryWest considered drafting [Kenny] Thomas instead of [Devean] George back in 1999, and Thomas is a template for the sort of aggressive big man the Lakers will try to add in the offseason: someone who doesn't need to be given the ball to make plays.

Interesting, no? Brand was the #1 pick, Thomas #22 and George #23. In looking at the list, that was a pretty good draft year overall.

cook was just added to match salaries.... and he seemed like the most available bench player for the trade..... i honestly believe that odom would be a better kenny thomas than kenny thomas.... silent assassin.... 14/10 guy.... because we really dont need a dominant big guy, because outside of duncan, kg and shaq who is left? amare? please..... if you put someone on nash amare is done for the night....

Which would be fine if we had to beat the Cllippers to win a title. We don't. The issue is not this team, or this PF's ability to play with and beat most bad teams and middling PFs (Brand is more than that, but he's undersized himself).

The issue is:
Dirk Nowitzki (35pts on 13-24 last time out)
Tim Duncan (averaged 29pts 12.5rebs on 59% shooting against KT in Philly this year)
Kevin Garnett (30 and 13 on 11-14 last time)
the Detroit Wallace/Wallace/McDyess frontline (shot 6-12, 7-12, 6-7 for a combined 46pts 27rebs last time out -- Ben Wallace was KTs man at 19 and 14)

I was only using Brand as your average PF you can look at any PF and the results would be similar.

Dirk also scored 36 against Tim Duncan and 34 against Kevin Garnett.

You keep posting these big numbers from some of the Elite PF's against KT. When in all actuallity they are doing the same thing to the rest of the league. As far as Wallace goes he also only had 4 points against KT earlier and nobody in the league holds him under 10 rebounds.

I am not saying KT is even in the top ten pf in the league. but for you to keep bringing up what Dirk and Garnett did hell they are the main option on their respective teams and they do that against everybody Both are in the top 5 in scoring averaging over 25 pts a game and i doubt they play KT 82 times a year. And please don't post what Duncan did against Philly while KT was there that is like comparing What Webber did in SAC vs. what he did in Philly.

I like looking at numbers also. So before you keep throwing all these big numbers some ppl get against KT look at what that same person did against Duncan, Garnett, Wallace, .......ect.....ect you will find it doesn't vary to much.

I will have to check your join date to see when exactly you started watching the Kings, but maybe you missed the fact that during our peak years we were a Top 10 defensive team, one year even finishing first in OppFG%.

And it WAS the personnel. We were BIG. We blocked shots. At one point our frontcourt rotation was 7'1" Divac, 6'9" Webb, 6'11" Clark and 6'11" Pollard. Our SFs were 6'9" as a starter and 6'10" as a backup.

That was an awesome team! Jimmy Jackson was a terrific defender. Keon was good at times. Although he has more impressive invisibility powers than Peja. I really thought we had a chance that year.

not against dallas he didnt.... keon was the man against dallas in the regular season.... lol.... that was a great team that we had that year....

The last thing we need is Odom if were going to keep Peja. Kenny has done a good job for us. If we are going to trade for a 4, I'd rather trade for someone with size or draft someone with size who can play D. Then again if we have a healthy lineup with Brad and Bobby, I'm not sure if trades are needed. I'd really like to see the Kings with a full lineup. I'm just not sure who will start at the 4. Brian, Brad or Kenny?

Possible Scenarios

5-Brad
4-Skinner

Give us 2 guys who rebound well, Skinner brings shot blocking while scoring will suffer slightly in comparison to Thomas.

5-Brad
4-Thomas

We would lack size, rebounding would go down slightly but scoring would be better.

5-Skinner
4-Brad

Same as 1 except Skinner playing the 5 and Brad playing the 4. Really doesn't change much.
