Keep Jason Hart?

And you guys expect a team would give up a guy like Charlie Bell?

I'm just wondering that if Jason Hart was given enough minutes to actually prove his worth yet this season? b/c i honestly can't say I've seen him enough on the floor to say he's not a good backup PG.

Well, he's had a bunch of pretty nice games this season, but he hasn't been consistent when ever played. He didn't play a lot in Feb/most of March.

I don't think he's out of the plans, but ultimately think we need a better back-up PG unless Hart gets something going around now-the playoffs. He did have a nice 2-3 game stretch in the last couple weeks.

Yeah- i totally agree w/ you. He has had a few good games this season, but couldn't he be able to show better consistancy with more minutes? b/c everybody knows Bibby could use a little more rest w/ all the minutes he's logging.

But then again, I understand Adleman's need to have Ron and Mike on the floor for momentum reasons.

Jason Hart just isn't at the level we need a backup point guard to be, IMHO. The fact he's so inconsistent is what has severely curtailed his minutes on the court. A backup PG doesn't need to dazzle people with his brilliance. He just needs to perform adequately to allow Bibby to get some rest. You never know what you're going to get with Hart and I just don't think Adelman is going to take a chance... We don't have any wiggle room.

Here are some numbers for thought when it comes to Jason Hart.

He has a PER of 6.81, which, if he were on pace to play in 70 games, would put him at fifth worst in the entire league.

He has a shooting percentage of 38.3%, which is off the charts bad.

His PER differential according to 82games.com is -7.4, by far the worst on the team.

I was excited about Hart coming in. I did not expect him to be one of the worst players in the league.

Well, this could well take Claxton out of our hunt for a back-up PG:

NewsOK.com - Hornets guard Speedy Claxton is set to open up contract talks on a long-term deal this week.

Claxton is a 6th man of the year candidate and will meet with Hornets brass over dinner on Wednesday with his agent Bill Duffy.

The Hornets have made clear that they hope to keep the point guard who is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer.

I was excited about him coming in as well but pgs in the kings system are usually shooters more than playmakers and it just doesn't work for Hart.

"If Mario Kasun isn't coming back, the Magic need at least one more frontcourt guy to supplement the Dwight Howard/Darko Milicic/Tony Battie trio. They need to add some muscle -- a guy who isn't afraid to commit a hard foul -- because if they challenge the likes of Detroit, Miami and New Jersey, those teams won't take kindly to the Magic joining the elite."

Potapenko or Corliss for Dooling or Arroyo? I'm there. :)

Eddie Griffin
6-10 PF from Seton Hall
4.6 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 0.6 apg in 19.4 minutes

Troy Hudson
6-1 PG from Southern Illinois
9.5 ppg, 1.2 rpg, 2.9 apg in 22.1 minutes
Change in team outlook: +5.0 ppg, -0.7 rpg, and +1.5 apg.

Minnesota Trade Breakdown
Outgoing

Eddie Griffin
6-10 PF from Seton Hall
4.6 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 0.6 apg in 19.4 minutes

Troy Hudson
6-1 PG from Southern Illinois
9.5 ppg, 1.2 rpg, 2.9 apg in 22.1 minutes
Incoming

Kenny Thomas
6-7 PF from New Mexico
9.1 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 2.0 apg in 28.0 minutes
Change in team outlook: -5.0 ppg, +0.7 rpg, and -1.5 apg.

Successful Scenario
Due to Sacramento and Minnesota being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Sacramento and Minnesota had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

I don't know that Hart has truly had a chance to show what he can do. He hasn't had a lot of minutes, and when he did the team was playing poorly.

He's looked better lately.

Let's hope he's peaking for the playoffs.

And Kevin McHale is gonna jump all over that why exactly????????

Well he wouldn't "jump all over it," obviously, but considering that:

1. The Wolves would love to dump Hudson and his contract, with Banks and Jaric playing most of the PG minutes anyway

2. They could play Kenny and KG next to each other, and it doesn't matter as much anymore that Kenny is undersized

...it's not as terrible of a deal that it initially may seem.

I agree.

If he plays well in the playoffs, I wouldn't mind us keeping him. Since he has the player option. He'd be our defensive guard off the bench, and then we could get a better back-up for Mike.

May not be all over it, but it's in relation. The team has said a number of times this year they want a rebounder to help KG out, Blount is not that. Eddie Griffin was like that, but then fell out of the rotation when Blount came in, and didn't play regular or many minutes since. This was being said during February and March.

Agreed.

I love B-Jax, but he's 32/33, likely want a security deal, and has still shown he's injury prone (lesser extent this season though). I think the Grizz re-sign him anyways.

There are other back-up guards out there more likely to be had other than Bobby.

speedy claxton, mike james, jay williams, kendall gill, dujaun wagner, willie green, anthony peeler is available, I know he is a 2, but hey, same with kerry kittles and ron mercer. God Shammgod and Trajan langdon are also available.

I said to be had, as in trades too. Like Charlie Bell/Duhon/Dooling.

Claxton's gonna be locked up by the Hornets, and Claxton has said he wants to stay a Hornet. Willie Green's signed with the Sixers. Outside of Mike James, didn't mean any of those other guys, there's Tyronn Lue as well for an FA. Also there's Marcus Banks, but he's in a similar situation to Claxton, Wolves really like him and can't see them going to let go another young PG like they did Billups/B-Jax. Besides, he probably wants too much money in our case.

A PF as many people know isn't exactly a very hard position to fill. There are tons of 6'0" to 6' 3" or so guys that can bring the ball up and distribute it and shoot decently. It's when you start talking about the dominant huge center we need so desperatly here that things get tricky. Hart is gone after this season, give Price a chance. At least he is young and is athletic, he also was an undrafted guy and worked his way onto the team, let him get some minutes. We need all the help we can get playing the Spurs, let's not think of beyond this series quite yet, we have a long ways to go. At the very least let's not make it too easy on the Spurs. Let's be a thorn and give them the Spurs to their sides. :D

Bell with 13 pts and solid defense off the bench.

Not sure if Price gets the job, but it'd be interesting. Hart has a player option, so could exercise it, and who knows if he gets traded.

Hart over Garcia

Any idea why Hart played over Garcia in OT tonight?

Earlier in the season, Hart was glued to the bench when Garcia was playing backup PG/SG/SF.
