Prime Kawhi might be an overstatement but yes Keegan’s wing defense on smaller players has been outstanding. The most positive development of the year.
I think Keegan has said so himself. And Hali might have said the same thing (no jinx).

It will take a good two years before the national media talks about Keegan as an outstanding defender. It doesn't fit the narrative of him coming out of college. Just watch...
Keegan got hacked to the floor on the play before. That’s why he was in that position and grouchy.

Yeah I don't know if there's a word for it... but it's like his second step lateral quickness is what gets you. He's quicker overall, but he's lanky, so it looks different than Davion, but because he's so long, he just reappears back in front of his man with that lateral step.
His closeouts too have been next level, and staying down on those.
The thought came to my mind last game... is there a bit of Scottie Pippen in there? Kinda seems like it...

I am person of first impression and have to admit with Murray was one of the few times i HAD to say i am totally wrong ... Was amazed in the first several games how a player who is supossed to be a ''shooter'' and its arround 20-25 of this 3 point atttempt has all the credit from everyone to play and shoot but .....
What he is doing in deffence is ... ''hats all down... " ... Did not follow him last season but this few games is a world class ...
Also makes a good impression in the last games before the injury that he decreased the amount of 3 pointers , and started to attack the ring which gave a very postive effect at his offence as well ...

Very impressive, Murray stays with his man and has some lateral speed to recover when he has to. Dare I say comparable to Scottie Pippen?

From what I have seen so far they will announced it few hours before the game , at this moment is “questionable”

Said the exact same thing, both points (recovery lateral speed and Pippen) a couple weeks ago. There really are just so many incredibly smart people on this board.

for whom? The problem with stacking best player available behind starters is they don’t get room to grow. Don’t think the Kings will get back anything of value for Davion.
I like Davion but his problem is more than just getting buried behind Fox. It might be a system thing, his height doesn't seem to help him either.

no it doesn’t. But his height thing was a known issue despite Monte saying that he could guard 3’s.
I dont really play GM. I'd like Caruso at backup PG, and slide Monk to starter. Hueter or Keon off the bench for what you need.
Also you seem to be saying he's both good enough to play, but not be traded for anything of value. I get he's not showing much value as used currently.

I'd take someone near "equal value" as him, who fits this roster. If thats not available, then look for someone with potential who fits, like Lyles
An alternative theory is that keeping Davion in the rotation is what allows us to get away with having a non-defender like Monk as our sixth man. The problem isn't really that Davion can't guard 3's -- most PGs can't -- it's that until Keegan's emergence as a defender this season no one else in the rotation could guard 3's either.
This. Everything being said about Davion is contextual (relative to his fit with the current roster/scheme). I think if he played somewhere like Minnesota or San Antonio - it would be a totally different conversation.
