The Washington Post is reporting that the Kings have shown some interest in Juan Dixon.

Juan Dixon , the former Maryland star who spent the past three seasons with the Wizards, met with the Trail Blazers yesterday and plans to meet with the SuperSonics this weekend. The unrestricted free agent also has drawn interest from the Lakers, Pacers and Kings.
The probability of Dixon returning to Washington decreased drastically when the Wizards added free agent guard Antonio Daniels to a back court that already includes Gilbert Arenas , Jarvis Hayes and Caron Butler .

"More than anything, Juan is looking to go to a team where he will have a defined role and where he will know what is expected of him," Dixon's agent, Calvin Andrews said. "He's looking for that and an opportunity to go someplace and win."

Poor man's Bobby Jackson, makes some sense if Bobby is on the move in a trade. But as always what separates a guy like Dixon from a guy like Bobby is that incrediblye physicality and fearlessness. Still, obviously Bobby is one of a kind, or close to it, so you aren't going to be able to 100% replace him. We do like our scorers, even in guys who are susposed to be PGs.

The biggest difference between Bobby and Dixon (not counting things like rebounding, fearlessness) is that Dixon is simply not a good ballhandler.

If he is being looked at as a third PG option, I'd rather have House unless Dixon would come cheaper. If Petrie is thinking of moving Jackson (or even Bibby) then Dixon is the wrong place to look for a primary backup.

Unless this is an end of the roster 13th or 14th man situation, I say pass.

I second that.

Petrie is smart. And the off-season is a hypercompetitive, free-for-all. Therefore, it makes total sense that you make your wish list of players you really want, but you also rank a number of others, given the uncertainty of it all, and make contacts with their GMs and/or agents too.

I can't belive that Dixon is high on ANYBODY's lists, so he's probably DOWN there somewhere on Petrie's. It's likely the Kings have made contact, just in case the 20 or so more desirable moves they seek do not take place.

I suppose somebody could also be interested if you are trying to figure out a multi-team deal to get who you really want, right?
