I did some digging around and found this article... I thought it was fitting with all the "too short" talk about flynn and at the same time seeing all these articles about Jameer Nelson and how "important" he is to the Magic.... Nelson was the college player of the year, a absolute stud in college... but after the combine, and the all so important measuring of the players.... he dropped out of the lottery and was picked 20th, then traded.... ouch.... well i'd say its fair to say it worked out for the Magic....

Im super high on Jonny Flynn.... I think its hilarious that with guys like Chris Paul, Jameer Nelson, A.I., Mike Conley Jr, Raymond Felton, DJ Augustin, Speedy Claxton, Nate Robinson (5'7), T.J. Ford, and Earl Boykins (5'5) playing (or played) at such a high level... not to mention Aaron Brooks crushing the lakers... all that... and GM's still get so bent outa shape over guys being only 6'0 or 5'11...

I mean sure it would be awesome if Chris Paul was 6'4... but hes not... and he doesn't need to be... maybe being small actually works to the players advantage???? who knows??? but my point being is Holiday is coming off a crappy year, Rubio is a major question mark with alot of GM's, and then there's Flynn... the ultra consistent stud that just happens to be only 5'11...

sure his 3pt shot needs some work (so does all these PG's)but his percentage is still higher than Beno's LOL! and thats something he can improve... his shot looks good no major flaws....

anyway I'd obviously take Rubio how could you not?... but if we landed Rubio and I were Petrie... I'd still try to get Flynn... This draft sucks... but its got some PG's... might as well try to kill 2 birds with one stone... if one busts then your covered... If ones a stud start him... If their both studs then maybe trade one... We dont need 2 other picks in such a weak draft... trade them both for flynn... or just draft flynn if Rubios gone... and try to grab Holiday or another PG...with trades somehow...

I also wanna mention that his best games came against top teams... for example Uconn.... 34 pts 11 ast and 6 stl

his worst games came agains Long beach St and crapy teams... Flynns team crushed those teams...

Totally agree I kinda like flynn if rubio is not available. I would also take a loot at Curry as well .

Johnny Flynn is not that short... he measured out at 5'11.25" without shoes and 6' .75" (almost 6'1") with shoes at the combine. He's the same height at Mills, and Lawson.

I consider being undersized to be less important for a PG than any other position. But unless you have adequate bulk to counter it where it does definitely hurt is on defense, where not only are you vulnerable to the strong post up points, but you are a walking mismatch during switches and in pick and roll situations.

Unless you're Brevin Knight, maybe. Per pound, he might've been the best defender in the league.

I like Flynn, too. #4 seems a little early for him, but if Rubio's not happening, I'd be okay with his being our next PG.

I like him. He's an athlete and and a great competitor. He just might be an excellent defender, despite his size, because he has great lateral quickness. Overall, I think he's a pretty safe pick because he has no major weaknesses.

He's virtually the same size as Chris Paul. So it's more of a skill and speed question. And if you've seen the youtube videos of the kid dunking over people, then the whole size thing would really leave your mind quick.
