This is quite shocking...at least on the surface and if the piece is fact-based.
The implications are that the pro-arena team is not together and/or the complications with getting the Railyard land from the RR to the developer and then to the City are too risky now in the eyes of the Maloofs. That could be cost and/or schedule-driven concerns. Regardless, there is nothing to be gained by ANY PRO-ARENA PARTY in this deal by taking any negotiating/posturing turmoil public.
However, since Mary Lynne's piece was so very short, I won't comment any further until more details are unearthed and shared publicly. It will be interesting to see what more comes out of this when folks are interviewed at some length. The anti-arena crowd will have field day, no matter what happens next.
Until then, and I see a uniform front from the pro-arena team (maybe even some real PR...fancy that?), I am on the sidelines.
