JJ suspended for not reporting (merged AGAIN)

Players still have human rights as far as I know and if they choose not to play so be it, of course they will not get paid but hey that is his perogative.

Cana team suspend a palyer? Sure and if they don't want to pay a no-show who's contract they bought its a smart move just in case things go to arbitration in terms of who is in full or partial breach of contract.

I suspect the concerned parites are woking behind the scenes to work something out.

i was responding to what doone said.... i was wondering if a team could sign him if he were suspended indefinitely.... or traded to a new team, because since he has showed up then he hasnt been cleared, so i was wondering if that changes the procedure in trading him....

As much as I loved what JJ brought to our team before wasn't one of the negatives about it was that he would retard the development of our younger players? Right now I'm pleased with the positive turn of events regarding Martin and Evans and how they're fitting in and contributing. I'm for finding an older vet to give depth to the point for the rest of the regular season until Bobby's back for the playoffs and allow our rooks to grow. Isn't that what many of us thought we needed?

I agree that the developments with Evans and Martin may have turned this question a bit. I mentioned faceitously a couple of weeks ago that JJ already had a hand in ending the Kings careers of a couple of young swingmen in Hedo and Wallace, be a certain irony to bringing him back to retard the development of a couple of more in Evans and Martin.

That said, there would still be a couple of arguments for why you could bring him back --
1) he is still at his age a proven scorer and rugged tough guy type who would be a rock solid trustworthy backup for Peja. If it could convince Rick to let go of his Peja security blanket and actually cut him down to 35min/gm or so it could have long term benefits with a fresher Peja come playoff time.
2) as much as the rooks have impressed, the odds are that a desperate aging JJ would be the more valuable swingman to have come playoff time.

Personally I don't do it -- I just know what would happen there with Rick -- JJ would eat up not only the backup Peja minutes, but as many of the backup OG minutes as possble as well, and Martin/Evans would be largely banished back to the bench. But there are still reasonable reasons why you might. JJ still mgiht give you the best chance at a championship this year, even as he once again messes up your future int he process.

The Kings have always been labeled as chokers and that was evident in game 7 against the Mavs. 2 players actually showed up to play and they were Bibby and JJ. I really like what Evans and Martin bring to the game but they are still unknowns when it comes to the playoffs. I would feel a little more comfortable if there was some way we could get JJ on the roster.
