Jimmer

Sacramento Kings (3-8)

Thankful for ... Jimmer. Let's hope the Kings shared on Thanksgiving more than they do on the hardwood. Sacramento averages just 17.8 assists per game, which is mildly impressive when you consider that Tyreke Evans is leading the team at 3.4 assists per game. It goes without saying that DeMarcus Cousins is putting together a strong campaign for the dishonor of being the season's biggest turkey, but the rest of the 3-8 Kings aren't far behind. The team's lone bright spot has been Jimmer Fredette in a cameo role. He's averaging an incredible 122 points per 100 possessions while averaging a team-high 24.1 ppg per 36 minutes. (Unfortunately for Sacramento, he's only playing 9.1).

the answer is in the proper use of all players not just one guy....that is obviously how they lost the game it is not about using or not using one guy. The only way this team can win a game is if the right guys are playing until the game is a lock then you can bring in other guys to rest the players that give you a big lead.....and for this team a big lead is at least 15 or more and if it is only ten you better have the right guys in there or you will lose your a#$

if you can plug jimmer in there for a sg who is tired and needs a breather you do that but you bring the guy back in there who he was resting very quickly especially if your lead is only 10 or less.. these guys can win games but they have to be given every opportunity to do so what would a good coach do with a team that is in desperate need of a win..not just a win tonight but lots of wins so that people will want to come to games...this is not the way to do it especially not in reference to one player

I didn't start following the Kings because of Jimmer, never saw his BYU games and generally didn't have an opinion of him until a couple weeks ago. I think he needs a fresh start somewhere else.

It's obvious the Kings only drafted him to sell merchandise and equally obvious that the coach doesn't want him playing, at least not in situations in which he can succeed. Jimmer seems to divide the fan base as well, with people rooting for him to fail. The same people make excuses for Cousins being lazy and making dumb decisions, defend Tyreke for his poor shot selection/lack of range and fawn over a 5'9 guard who never even thinks about passing.

It's just bizarre that he gets blamed for losses and bad defense when he plays 1 to 9 minutes a game and doesn't even play every night.

You realise of course that about. .. 1 poster unfairly blames jimmer for our losses. The rest of us have praised him for his improved play
and many even call for him to get more consistent minutes at IT's expense

No problem. It took me a while to understand all the advanced metrics too. Again, I like Jimmer. I just think when we overrate where he is right now it actually detracts from the conversation.

DRTG is an extremely poor statistic in general. Mysynergy and 82 games defensive metrics are much stronger

It doesn't get much better than Synergy.com. Of course you have to pay for it, but there's simply nothing you can't find out on that site in the way of statistics. 82 games isn't bad either, and its free!

Now if only those sites would tell the Kings how to solve the major problems of no offense or defense and no role players...............
