I really feel the most sorry for Kings fans like you in this instance. You get caught wearing that in your area and you'll be laughed out of existence.
I cannot begin to imagine what was going through whoever designed those uniforms, should they turn out to be like that... and based on the Pacers uniforms, I am afraid, very afraid they will be.
If you look at the Pacers uniform closely, the ONLY real difference between the one on Jermaine O'Neal and the one from the game is the size of the trim around the neck. That does NOT instill me with feelings of confidence.

I am totally and completely serious about starting a "recall" campaign if our new uniforms resemble in any way what has been depicted in this thread. Some things are simply NOT acceptable IMHO - and our beloved Kings looking like Laker wannabes is one of those things.

I'd say nice find IV4R, but I'm just too annoyed with what I see. I normally don't care at all about jerseys, but that just looks terrible. The Kings should be separating themselves from the Lakers, not trying to sign their coach, trade for their players, and wear look-alike jerseys.

IF the Maloofs are so enamored of PURPLE and GOLD, perhaps they should talk to Jerry Buss. In case they've forgotten, those colors ARE TAKEN!!!!
I am really disappointed in the marketing "genius" who thought up this campaign. We have fought for recognition on our own for a very long time. Now, when the team is finally able to be more than simply "the other team from California" the powers that be are trying their best to make us into Lakers North?

It's ludicrous and totally unacceptable. Someone within the Kings organization, for whatever reason, decided to use the "gold standard" as a marketing concept for this season. Well, cool beans. EXCEPT that PURPLE and GOLD are and have been the colors of the Los Angeles Lakers. If they didn't think it would matter, they're insane.

vf21- we must, as fans, stand up to this idiocracy and protest these new unis. Each fan should buy one of the new jerseys and spray paint it black. When the time arrives for them to wear these jerseys, all fans will throw the ugly spray painted jerseys on the court, with chants of "these jerseys suck"

They judge the success of things like this by cash receipts. You buy it, they deem it a success.
The BEST way to protest this choice is really pretty simple. Don't spend your hard-earned money on this particular jersey. Buy the purple, buy the white but DO NOT buy the gold. It's basic economics. If those jerseys meet with very little success at the cash register, I can pretty much guarantee they won't be around very long.
