Jamison, traded to Cavs!

Early reports are that Antawn Jamison is headed to the Cleveland Cavaliers as a part of a three team trade.

Details haven't emerged as of yet, but early speculation is that Jamison is headed to Cleveland and newly acquired Drew Gooden is landing on a Western Conference roster. In return the Wizards are expected to get Zydrunas Ilgauskas and a first round pick.

I am not sure why Gooden is involved with all this speculation as the Jamison for Big Z works straight up and Gooden is an ender, which, one would assume, Washington would want.

I doubt its the Kings unless there's some financial bone they threw into the mix. My guess is its Nuggets or maybe Dallas figured a way to bring him back.

Jamison fits the Cavs a lot better than Amare.

Jamison can post up and score in a variety of ways around the low block. Amare needs a good PG to be maximized. Also, it makes sense $ wise as Jamison has 2 more yrs left while Amare wants a long term extension.

The Cavaliers have acquired Antawn Jamison from the Wizards, according to the Washington Post. The trade has also been confirmed by sources that spoke to Brian Windhorst of the Beacon-Journal and Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo!
The Wizards will receive Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Al Thornton, Brian Skinner, the draft rights to Emir Preldzic and a first round pick, according to the source.
The Clippers are also involved and will receive Drew Gooden, who will be bought out.

I'd just say the Cavs are the clear winners, they traded an expiring and the 30th pick in the draft for a guy who rolls out of bed averaging 20/9. They gave up very little, and got a very good player.

The Wiz clear cap and get the 30th pick in the draft. Al Thornton is 26, and recently had his spot taken by Rasual Butler. I'd say it was the right idea to make the move, and they did ok considering there wasn't much of a market other than the Cavs.

I think Jamison will help the Cav's. He's a very versital player, and a deceptive rebounder. I used think that there was no player that was luckier with throwing up crap at the basket and have it go in. But after all his years in the NBA, I have to admit its not luck. He's a solid player and could be the difference maker for the Cav's. I wish him all the best.
