James Harden's Defense

Yikes... And we thought Jimmer was bad lol.. At least Jimmer tries to stay in front of his assignment. Harden's mind is elsewhere and he is constantly letting his guy go.

Defense has been a knock on Harden since he came into the league. I kind of give him a pass because his offensive game is so smooth and because the shooting guard position is so weak around the league. Nine games out of ten, he is going to outscore his man by ten points or more.

Wow... that was really bad. Literally standing straight up and on some plays just walked over towards the ball with his hands strapped to his sides, which 1) is terrible on the ball defense and 2) leaves his man running free and wide open on the other side of the court. I'm appalled

Kindof puts it in perspective though when people talk about how good of a player James Harden is. And also why statistics alone don't tell you the whole story. A lot of what you see in this video is hard to measure statistically.

Not related but, check out the production of 2 familiar names at SF.

Omri Cassipi- 10 PPG, 5.8 RPG, 3.3 APG .603 TS%, 46% 3pt

Francisco Garcia- 11.8 PPG, 1.8 RPG, 46% 3pt (6 attempts per game), .674% TS

Now, it's a lot different getting to play with Harden, Howard, and Parsons, but damn it's depressing seeing two guys we gave away for peanuts be hugely productive and EXACTLY what we want from the SF position.

Truly, amazing how little effort Harden puts forth. it's really hard to take them seriously as a contender because of that. This is a nightly occurrence with him. Not always that bad, but that video is from a Rockets message board. There are lots of "watch how horrible harden is on D" videos.

feels like piling on, but this one is too beautiful to pass up:

It's really amazing sometimes. It's more than lack of effort, it's like he's actually asleep,on the court,

I wouldn't mind seeing Casspi on the current Kings team. He's played well this year (Statistically for me, since I haven't watched him at all), and I am happy for him to get an opportunity. Looked like he might be on the fringe of going overseas after the past couple years.
