Express-News - A Knicks’ spokesman said Wednesday that the New York Knicks have decided not to match the Spurs’ three-year, $7 million offer to restricted free agent Jackie Butler.

The Spurs have yet to officially hear from the Knicks or the NBA.

Wow, I'm disappointed. That's a good price for Butler and a good situation. It's a shame the Kings couldn't have gotten him.

Also, how insane is it that the Knicks didn't re-sign him? I guess they have a rule against reasonably-paid players.

While that's a solid point, the fact is that they have been insanely over the luxury tax for a decade and have cheerfully dumped huge contracts on every stiff in the league, which were also doubled. They are effectively paying $10mil a year for Jerome James, jsut to use a recent example. And NOW they decide to close their wallets on a relative bargain?
