It's Official: Isaiah Thomas is my New Favorite KING

Elektrik

Starter
As I'm watching the game, I see Isaiah Thomas play like the Kings of old. In fact he reminds me of Bobby Jackson. Energetic, clutch, motivated, inspired and not afraid of anyone. This is the kind of play that I love and i'm sure all Kings fans love. If it can somehow transfer on to the rest of his teammates then I will be happy and I know we will start winning some games. I love how he comes to play every night, unlike some of his teammates. Isaiah.....YOU ARE THE MAN!

love his backstory and his play, hes making a difference even though the wins arent stacking up. Keep hustlin Isaiah

He's definitely got the heart and the hustle. He reminds me a lot of Bobby J.

I agree. I think working with BJax in practice is helping him too.

Let's hope the numbers can start reflecting his other intangibles. It's wasy to overlook him shooting 33% FG and 25% 3pt with all the other stuff positive stuff he does, but he's gotta get those numbers up if he wants to be more than a 4th guard off the bench

I'm thinking we shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth, so to speak. We got him from the very bottom of the draft barrel. I'm just grateful he's got any skills at all; he could end up being an excellent role player for years to come.

What I don't get is, why is Thomas not starting? The biggest problem this team has right now is they can't shoot. Well except for Thomas. You gotta put shooters in the game. If you can somehow get Cousins, Evans, Thornton, Jimmer and Thomas on the floor at the same time, do it!

Thomas is shooting 35%. The biggest reason he's not starting though is they have guys like Thornton and Salmons who were projected and expected to be starters. It feels like they're kind of stubbornly clinging to the idea of those guys starting rather than reevaluating things.

Earlier this year I said the starting lineup should be IT, Jimmer, Evans, Thompson/Hickson, and Cousins. People thought I was crazy and called me several names. With each passing week though more and more people seem to be coming around to a similar lineup, however. Wish the coaches would try it... Salmons should not even be getting good minutes let alone starting on this team right now.

Much as I love watching IT play, he can't defend a good shooter who can go over him at any time, and he can't get easy looks at the rim at the other end because of his height. He has elevation, but because he has to jump so high, it gives the other team just enough time to react and get airborne to block his shots. He's a great facilitator, and the energy and hustle are excellent, especially on a young team that is more susceptible to the mood on the court.

But as a starter, nuh-uh. Just too many liabilities.

Because you need more than five players during a game, and you definitely have to have someone who can come in off the bench and be an instant spark.

Lots of people are comparing IT to Bobby J. If you think back, Bobby won the 6th man award because he came off the bench and did exactly that night after night. Thomas might have a 6th man award in his future, and if he does, it will because he wasn't played out of where he plays best.

IT's outside shot looked good against Utah. He has good form. It should get better and better. As he gets that 3 pointer down it will really open up his drives and a mid-range game. I really like his quick feet on defense. Despite his size, he can be a good defensive player eventually because he's so darned quick and give problems to other ultra quick pgs in this league. He's also my favorite player to watch.
