It's All About "The Culture"

You replaced him with IT......

That's certainly part of it. The other part is the collective IQ and experience of the team in running an offense. I harp on off ball movement all the time, but if you're just standing around waiting for someone to get you the ball, you're probably doing it wrong.

Other than McLemore Kings don't have players, whose natural game is moving off the ball. Considering that just 3 years ago Ben was a PF, I guess, it's not that hard to learn, if you apply yourself. Still when team consist almost entirely out of scorers rather than shooters, it's too optimistic to expect good results.

It comes natural to some people, just cause he played PF 3 years ago does not mean anything in terms of his ability to move off the ball. He could have played PF moving off the ball similar to what Patrick Patterson did for us. If it were not that hard to learn than there would be a lot more players in the NBA that are good without the ball.

Players who are not naturally good off the ball players tend to only be good off the ball players if they have high IQ something that is lacking in the extreme on this team.

Interesting you mention the "shooters vs scorers" idea. In thinking back to training camp, when Brendan Malone was helping out,... his evaluation then was that the roster didn't have enough shooters.

He was exactly right. Unfortunately our best pure shooter (Fredette) wasn't played with any consistency
