Bricklayer said:No, it was more than that. Their defense was good, as always. But it wasn't THAT good. We made a lot of our own beds tonight. Just no movement, no passing. There's not a team in the league we would have scored well against the way we played tonight.

As a note on Ricky Berry, he was going to be a very solid basketball player.

PFFFT!! said:Superior is one thing, but to get pasted at Arco like we did without their starting center is another. Im kinda down on this. I personally blame the coaching, which is good enough to beat most teams, except the really good ones. Oh well, I figure we have an eternity to go with Adelman :\
Yeah, even in gargabe mins, Spurs still outscored the Kings. Bad shooting night?Bricklayer said:No, it was more than that. Their defense was good, as always. But it wasn't THAT good. I disagree with this. It was a regular season game where the whole team was clearly struggling. To have any chance of helping the team win Webber would have had to really force the action. I don't think that would be worth the risk of making the ankle worse for what would be a small chance at a single regular season win.buddahead_916 said:I hesitate to even say this but I will. While I hope that ankle injury isn't serious, Webb needs to get some intestinal fortitude. The spurs, at our house, thirty point loss??? C'mon big man we needed you more than ever last night, and that turn of the ankle didn't "look" THAT serious (knocks on wood). All I can think about is evans having 15 stitches and a concussion and still playing the next game, that's the fire that's just IN some people ( if anyone has had a concussion of that magnitude you know what I'm talking about, you'll feel "funny" for a couple days and I was extremely suprised to see him back so quick). I HAVE to believe that he really was hurt or he woulda played, but webb is known to be suspect at times when it comes to these kinds of minor injuries. Nobody cares if he sits to rest his knee against the leagues low lifes as he's done a couple times already, but this is the Spurs man, get your arse back in there next time.

Well, I'm not specifically optimistic about this loss (I'm more of a positive realistbuddahead_916 said:So I guess we should all just sit back and be optimistic, right? I refuse, the fact that you saw it as just a "single regular season win" makes me laugh. It was a LOT more than that, they whooped us worse at home than any team has in the last TEN YEARS. And this is the team that WILL stand in our way of a championship. The sonics and suns were just adrenalized for the first part of the season but they've come back to earth. The same can't be said about the Spurs, they are very good and unless TD gets injured they will be our road block for a ticket to the Finals. They just made a VERY big statement on our home court and I do think C-webb shoulda played through it.![]()
VF21 said:You blame the coaching? We had a total of EIGHT assists. That's not the coaches fault. We also had 11% 3-point shooting. That, too, is not the coaches fault. It was a TEAM loss.
For whatever reason, the Kings just did not come out focused. They were on a 6-game win streak and came out against the toughest team in the league as though they were playing a pick-up game at a family reunion.
The best coach in the world can't plan for that. If you're going to talk about them playing without their starting center (which wasn't a factor since TMass performed well over his talent level) then you also have to talk about Webber only playing 12 minutes.
It was a horrible, ugly game. It was no more representative of this team and its coach than the pre-season blowout by the Suns.
Of course, I don't believe in statement games in January or February
Yeah... your right, Adelmans silly screen offense doesn't get people open... I mean what have they been like 1st thru 3rd in offense the last 4 years?? That is completely unnacceptable!! When will They replace Adelman with a real offensive genius like Jeff Van Gundy!! I'm tired of seeing "slugs" on offense I wanna see some high powered offense!! Those picks just don't work!PFFFT!! said:Most of Adelmans plays take the wind out of our players more than saving energy. They rotate like crazy off picks that don't work, all for nothing because they cant get open. It just seems like they become slugs out there,
Another thing, forget BJ coming back in this game, wouldn't have made a difference. BJ or no BJ. The only thing positive out of this game is that perhaps they got their world rocked good and they can feel destructible now, so perhaps their effort next game will not stop, much like the Spurs when they didn't stop pummeling us during garbage time.

It just seems like they become slugs out there, slow and taking positions where getting rebounds are out of the question. I don't know, but we should at least stay competitive with the Spurs. Granted they are the best team, but come on.
