Is this team better or worse than when Paul Wesetphal was fired?

I think the team/roster is better but the lack of coaching and player development has caused stagnation. I dont think the team is worse. Our sole REAL problem lies with the owners. Fix the ownership situation and everything starts to turn around.

The team is no better or worse under Smart. The coach has never been the problem. It's the owners and GM, and I will also say the seven-foot tall toddler known as Cousins.

I disagree.

The coaches we have had have been failures. However even with this ownership and GM we could have gotten lucky and found the next unknown great coach and the ownership and GM would be much less of an issue. The ownership would be making money in a sold out arena and the GM would be getting awards again. We just chose the incorrect unknown coach at the time(s) and we no longer have the luxury of testing new waters.

So yes the Owners and our GM suck but our coach sucks also and he is the easiest to deal with. And the team is 2 years older under smart so we are worse.

To be a little more fair to Smart, Westfail had 3 training camps and 2 summers to work with players. Smart has had 1 training camp and 1 summer.

So lets compare the state of the team in Westphal's second season here with the team now. And it was really 2.5 training camps, with quite a number of roster changes heading into the 7 games before he was fired.
