heard on ESPN that the spurs WANT tim duncan out until the playoffs. this means that they will without a doubt drop in playoff seeding. now, even without brad and bo-jax, we are still capable of beating dallas, phoenix, seattle and houston (if we play the way we did against detroit). hopefully there is a possibility we wont see the spurs until the WCF. comments?

I think it's crucial for the Kings to avoid the #7 or #8 seed. Getting the Spurs in the 1st round would be a disastrous since no one likes a 1st round exit, it wouldn't be good for the fans, the city, or for the overall morale of the newly pieced together team. The Suns would be more ripe for an upset since they don't play D and are inexperienced, but would still be a tough upset. I'd rather the Kings drop to the #6 spot and play Seattle instead of Dallas. I think Seattle would be easier since they don't have an inside presence and rely on their shooting (similar to Dallas of years past and a main reason why we usually beat them).

Honestly, I don't think the Kings will fall flat on their face over the last stretch of game (I think they'll beat Dallas tom) but I'll be surprised to see them hold off a surging Rockets team. Thus, if the Kings as a 6 seed could upset the 3 seed Sonics, they'd probably get the #2 Suns barring the any other upsets. I think this is a good scenario, the farther this team goes on in the playoffs the better. The more we get to know about Peja (helps Petrie decide whether or not he's had enough of him), the more we get to see how well K9 matches up with the more elite PF's, the more we get to see if Skinner can keep it up, and the higher the chances of Miller and Bojax coming back and being effective.

I think we need Bobby and especially Brad if we want to beat any of those teams. Teams like Dallas and Houston is a must need for Brad, IMO.

Not sure if we'll be facing Spurs in the playoffs, but if Kings do, then bring it on Spurs!!!

To answer the question -- no, not good. Means there's a big ole landmine awaiting somebody in Rnd 1, and its basically a shell game trying to figure out who's going to get it. Makes #7 a very hazardous spot to be -- #8 might well be safer.

But its out of our hands. We just have to try to stumble on home and let the chips fall where they may.

some people are saying now that it would be a good thing to get the Spurs in the first round...right as TD is coming back from injury...he might not have the same production...and Manu/TP are pretty much broken down at THIS point...and by the end of the season they are going to be in worse shape cuz of the load thats now on their shoulders...and their 4th scoring option Devin Brown is now banged up (i don't whats his injury deal)

True a Western team hopeing to win the WCF would be BEST served facing SA early rather than latter (baring of course injuries in the play offs them selves) But teams looking to jsut make a good showing and or playing for survival round by round will want to avoid SA for as long as possible.

I can't see us making it out of the First Round w/o Miller. I say that w/o even knowing what the match-ups are going to be. We may be ok w/o B-Jax, but having B-Jax would definitely help (I say that with the assumption he's at least physically 75% "game" ready" - look at G-Tag, he's probably only 30-50% game ready).

Bottom-line ... just the thought of winning a 7-game series w/o Miller, no matter what team the King's play, is far-fetched.

Let's just hope Brad's there come playoffs, and if B-Jax is there ... all the sweeter for us fans !!!

I'm not sure it matters who the Kings face in the first series. The Kings will lose to Phoenix, Seattle, Dallas, or San Antonio if they don't bring a cluster of "A" games. On the other hand, the Kings can beat anybody when they play their "A" game. Moreover, the Kings have rarely played "A" games this season. But who knows? The Kings will definitely be considered underdogs in the first round no matter who they face this year.

If there was ever an opportunity to sneak up on some over-confident foe, this may be the year.

Seattle is only 4 games back. the way San Antonio is losing without Duncan they could become the #3 and with us heading for the #6 that is not good.

I really don't mind if we get the Spurs in the first round. My expectations are already low, so what would happen if we BEAT THEM. I could happen, and if it does then who knows what the kings can accomplish in the playoffs.

Facing SA is a bad idea with or without tim duncan why? They know what it feels like to win...never under estimate the heart of a champion so its a bad idea...If you think we can beat them they know they can beat us especially without brad...and ginobli is a god when he faces the kings

I think we'll do well with Spurs if no Duncan. If there's Duncan, of course it makes things tougher. If they have no Duncan and we have no Brad, that'll be very interesting. Manu is "God" cause Duncan is his teammates. I think if no Duncan, there'll probably be double teams on him? Makes life much tougher for him and it'll be nice to see how he handles it.

I wouldn't mind playing the Spurs in the 1st round at all. I'd rather face Tim Duncan sooner than later. The longer he has to heal the less you want to play San Antonio. I think we could give them a lot of problems. I really don't want to play Phoenix. They could average 125 ppg against our Swiss cheese defense!
