there's this great place called joshua's ribs on the corner of gerber and stockton blvd. there hecka good, and the sponsor a buncha community stuff.

I haven't made it to the Plantation yet, but I'm headed there in the hopefully not too distant future. But I also recommend the newly opened Sacramento location of the legendary Everette & Jones place. I am relieved to no longer have to trek to the Bay Area when I have a hankering. Their Sacramento location is off of Florin road, behind the big box shopping center that houses Walmart, Hometown Buffet etc. I also give big ups to Sandra Dees as well.

The best BBQ in Sacramento is called "D Millers". They are actually huge Kings fans too.

It is located at the corner of Fair Oaks blvd and I believe...Grant?

Is it still there? Afterall evertime I turn around there seems to be a new business there.:p

Has anyone ever tried Back Forty Texas BBQ?I think they have 4 Sac locations, but I went to the one in Roseville on Orlando Blvd. They catered my wedding reception ( I know, I know...I showed Quarter Horses before I moved to England, and worked at Gibson Ranch... so I'm a cowgirl at heart, I guess....yee-ha :p ) And their beef ribs were soooooooo good!

The owner of that place played trumpet back in the day with some of the greats. I can't for the life of me remember his name, or know if he is still alive, but I thought you would appreciate that bit of knowlege PJAZZ. :)

The sad part is when I was about 13 he offered to give me lessons and I said no. :(

Its Fair Oaks and Sutter FYI.

I've been wanting to try D'Miller's forever, but keep forgetting about it. Not hard to do considering how tiny and squeezed into the back it is! I'm glad to hear that it is still good after all these years.

Hey, these are some great suggestions. I have been thinking of some bbq for awhile myself, but like Rockmeister said... too lazy to cook. Especially on the sunny weekends you can smell the neighbors bbq going.

I heard good things about JR's but once again, too lazy to look up the info. :P Thank you to whoever left the address and phone#

Sandra Dee's - 14th and F

Mac-Que's - Power Inn and I believe Elder Creek

Everett and Jones  - I went there on Christmas Eve. It is alright I guess. I like E and J's in Oakland much better. Anyway Florin and Franklin.

Out of the three I like Sandra Dee's :)

Hey thanks! I do appreciate that little bit of info. I'll have to ask him about it next time I'm in.

Are you still playing trumpet? I wasn't sure if you said in a previous post if you did or not. I love the trumpet--in fact I've been really on a Freddie Hubbard kick lately. Of course, Miles will always be incredibly important to me :)

Ya, preparing for a Jazz concert up here at school. Bud Shank and Pete Cristlieb are our guest artists. ;) Its gonna be way cool.

I'm moving back to Sacto in May. We should get together and jam sometime.

Just Wondering ...
