In the previous season Omri Casspi's appearance in new york has gained big issue. close to the new york:sacramento game Omri continued to the all-star game, Immediately after the warmth welcome of the jewish community in N.Y.
Shimon Casspi, Omri's father is now in N.Y. and his cellular is flooded with requests for tickets tonight for the game of sacramento vs new yourk nicks. From u.s.a shimon told yesterday that "the medison square garden is not another basket ball hall. We have here the biggest jewish community and his arrival to the game is quite a story. A lot of people here (in N.y.) are intend to reach the game because of Omri. we've had such experience last season when the hall was full with israeli flags. it warms our hearts. this time its going to be the same."

Q: You can't disconnect this game from Nick's interest in Omri

A: He aready played in Washington which also wants him. Omri is not affected by these things. Both Chicago and Toronto show interest in him as well. Omri is very hot merchandize, in contrast to what people think.

Q: What are the chances for a trade?

A: In N.b.a sometimes things goes the opposite way. in Omri's case his small sallary (about 1 million dollar a season), is going against him. If Sacramento will release him it will lose a good player and also do not save in costs. They will release him only for more complex deal with more player with high cost. Sacramento knows very well what do they have in their hands and as for now I do not believe they will let him go.

Q: How Omri deals with his non-simple season both for him and his team?

A: Omri will never lower his head. I will also do not let him lower his head. It is not simple to play in a team that lose a lot, Once to play such amount of minutes and then play another amount. Omri also comes from europeanean mentality of group-like basketball. In spite of all things that have happened in this season he proves that he's a legimite n.b.a player and that he knows how to cope with things. Facts are speaking for itself. If he wasn't good enough, he was not so wanted person.

I think his father did a good job of answering the questions without creating any drama/controversy. Sometimes it doesn't work out that way. The subtext I'm getting here though is that the thought of playing for other teams is probably somewhere on Omri's mind. Pure sausage, for sure, from my end, but that's what I'm getting.

I would have to think any player playing on a losing team thinks about playing elsewhere. I accept that as a given. Thanks for translating the article.

I'm pretty sure players could be on winning teams and still think that. Just ask Amare and LeBron.
