Interest in Jimmer?

MT+Jimmer for Harden in a heart beat. I'd throw in Chuck to take back Perkin's contract too, if they would be interested.

Reke and Harden are perfect compliments for each other in the backcourt. You add an unselfish ballhandler to take pressure of Tyreke, and he can spot up too. And then you keep the size advantage if either of those guys are defended by a PG. Brooks gets pushed to the backburner, and IT becomes the energy 6th man.

Worst case, the 2 guard who was going to push Tyreke to SF becomes a taller and better defender.

Only problems I see with this idea is:

1) OKC won't do it.

2) Maloof's would not be able to pay Harden, Tyreke and DMC.

Otherwise its great!:)

MT is as good and cheaper. I dont see the hype for harden

They are comparable scorers. Harden is much more efficient, and if you chalk that up to being on a better team, his stats would look a lot like Thornton's if he took a greater volume of shots. He is a much better defender, and a better passer and rebounder (especially last year, MT seemed to fall off there). He's younger and has better size too. It's not a forgone conclusion that Harden will be better than MT, but in year 3 Harden took a step forward while MT took half a step back. There is clearly some separation.

If Harden gets the max MT will be the better value, but not by as much as you think. And if the team commits to Evans and undersized guards like Jimmer and IT, Harden makes more sense than MT, even at the max.

If you want a quality SF in return, then fine. I have no argument with that. But if you don't think Harden isn't better than Thornton, I don't know what to say. Harden is a legit 6'5". He's a better overall athlete than Thornton. He played PG or Point forward at Arizona St.. He's a terrific passer, and most of all, there's no comparison when it comes to defense. You want to argue shooting?

Thornton shot 43.8% overall against Harden's 49.1%. Thornton shot 34.5% from the three, against 39% for Harden. Thornton actually rebounded the ball well for a SG at 3.7 rebounds a game, but Harden averaged 4.1 rebounds a game. Thornton averaged 1.9 assists a game, while Harden averaged 3.7 assists a game.

I'm not trying to knock Thornton. I like him. But Harden is a better player. So if you want to argue against the trade fine. But don't use the Thornton is a better player than Harden as one of your reasons. I will admit that I'm biased. I've liked Harden all the way back to highschool. He's just a very skilled guy thats extremely unselfish and who puts the team and winning first.

I clearly did not say Thornton is a better player Harden. I said "Harden may not be that much better than Thronton." That is, Harden is better than Thornton, maybe not a whole bunch better.

We all know that Harden can look really good when playing with a loaded team. We do not know how good he would look playing for a poor team like the Kings.

agreed, and to add to it Harden having comperable numbers to MT is not because MT is almost as good its because Harden is surrounded by load of offensive talent and does not get the amount of free reign that MT gets. Switching spots its hard to imagine MT getting near 20ppg on the OKC roster whereas I can see Harden getting 24-25 easily on ours. He is just better in every aspect of the game at a bigger size.

Granted he had a bad finals but he is only 23, but im sure the spurs disagree when you say he cant be clutch or "the man".
