If Wolves don't improve, KG wants out

Slam Magazine - In a recent Q&A session with Slam Magazine, Kevin Garnett stated he'd like to see management make more player acquisitions and hinted at the possibility of leaving Minnesota if the team doesn't improve.

Regarding the moves management made so far, Garnett said, "I feel like getting Mike James was a start, but that’s not enough. We need some more solid players to contribute..."

When asked if he'd want to leave Minnesota if the team didn't improve, Garnett said, "I got to...If you’re not working towards a championship, then why are we in this? I’m in it to win, man, I’m not in it to be coming back talking about next year. I’m 30. I’ve probably got 4 to 5 years, you know what I’m saying? My clock is ticking, man. I’m almost like a woman who’s trying to get pregnant. My years are limited, so my clock is definitely ticking."

Come to Sactown, man. Chicago would be fun too.

Oh, indeed. Just saying the Bulls since I like the Bulls as well, and they're a possible destination for KG if he's gonna go.

He should just stay in Minny.

As he said - he's got about 4 years left on his prime. 4 years is a long time, by the time he's actually traded, Minny may be on the upswing, and the 'contender' he is traded to could fade away. Things change pretty quickly, I think he should just stay where he spent his entire career, and just bring all he can to the team.

After all, if he's the player he's cracked up to be, it shouldn't take toooo much for them to build a good team again. And, he's had his chance at a ring already and he didn't cash in. The KG/Spree/Alien led team (in its first season) was great - so it's not like he can say that he never had a shot at it.

1. He needs to go to a big market team

2. He needs to pair up with another super star (Lakers, Cavs, maybe Dallas )

3. He needs to show some emotion outside the court and show some flair for the media to like him. Duncans of the world dont win often in the nba and you have to be there at the right time to get that one off ring

4. He is getting there in terms of talking to the media about it and so far he has been very quite and vanilla for stern to give him the ring

5. Pick up the damn phone and talk to stern about it ;)

you might want to rethink that statement and replace tim duncan's name with anybody else's, preferably someone who doesn't have 3 nba championship rings to his credit.

That's got to be the stupidest statement regarding a KG trade I've ever heard.

Thanks, I hope I tasted good. ;)

But back to the topic at hand, I don't know how much longer KG could take being "stuck" in Minny. I think that someday he might explode.

So, Petrie is biding his time, getting ready to make a massive move for Garnett next year.

:p

In order to truly appreciate vladetomiller's post, you have to remember that he is, in fact, a Lakers fan.

:p

Miami - Wade , Shaq
SA - Duncans being at the right place
Detroit - One off eastern champ by default
SA - Duncans
Lakers - Kobe / Shaq / Big market
SA - Duncans
Bulls - MJ and big market

2-- LOL, when did he become a superstar

3. Absolutely , how else do you explain a SA team that won rings but never managed to even reach the finals in consecutive years

5. Trust me it works ;)

That is not false either, I dont think VF21 said I am not a kings fan either (The same way deep down within she is also a lakers fan after a kings fan )

Yeah, that's it...

Sorry, but while I will give credit to the Lakers for what they've acomplished over the years, I am NOT a Laker fan in any way, shape or form.

As far as the other teams in the NBA, I like:

1. Indians
2. Boston
3. All teams NOT from LA or Texas

1- All that proves is that championship calibre teams have incredible players. You look at that list and you see Kobe/Duncan/Shaq/Wade, yeah it's only a coincidence that people have debates over whose the best player IN THE WORLD and those guys come up the most.

2- Maybe not a super star, but last time I checked average players don't turn whole teams around, put them on their back and carry them to the playoffs.

3- They've gotten lucky at times and unlucky at times. Sometimes teams get more lucky than others. Still, Duncan has as many rings as Kobe.

5- So that's why TMac hasn't been out of the first round, Iverson and Garnett haven't won rings, etc. Yeah sure man.

Yeah thats something that really beats me, I thought the Yao-Tmac combo was going to get to the finals last year, but they are in my list for next year though ;)

Their problem this year was injuries, age, and the fact that Yao+TMac are plain overrated, or do you think Stern rigged that too?

T-Mac's health is still a main concern. If he goes down for awhile, or multiple times, the Rockets aren't much of a threat. Ditto for Yao, but Yao's health is not really a concern because of his surgery, and past games played history.

KG shows emotion, and has for awhile from what I've seen.

He always talks a lot on the court, shows emotion after big plays or shotblocks, and just about always says "Get that S*** outta here" where it's picked up on the mics. He also was in tears in an interview recently with John Thompson on TNT about winning a title and the situation in Minnesota. Also, remember his "It's gonna be a war, I'll be bringing my rocket launcher, uzi, gernades" line, or something like that, during the 2004 playoffs? Had his shoe commercial that was ran for half of this year, where he was shown as a solider in war, a comedian, and a gladiator, then he walks into a dark gym dribbling a basketball to end it. I'm sure there's other stuff, but that's just off-hand.

Clearly ignorance or a lack of memory on KG's emotional areas. :p

Wow... Sorry, but Tmac, and Yao wont win a thing together. Ever..

Your posts above didn't make sense. Artest is a star, not a superstar.. KG does not NEED to have a superstar along side him in order to win a championship. Duncan did it w/o another superstar on the team.

Also, wth did you mean he needs to go to a big market team? What does that have to do with anything? That statement in itself is what totally made your post look kind of.. well... you know...

well he needs something with solid talent playing with him; duncan had robinson for the first ring and tony ginobli for the other two.
