You are right this is his fourth year. His career stats screwed me up because they only show stats for 3 years.

He didnt play much of anything, actually he didnt play any his rookie year. I agree the media is overhyping him like they are overhyping Greg Oden, but I think that is based on their youth and their potential as well as the low number of quality big men around.

Last year before he got hurt he was the difference early on between the Lakers being a 7th or 8th seed and the Lakers being the number 1 seed which they were before he went down.

I dont know if he is going to be Shaq or he is going to be Dikembe Mutombo when his career is over, but if he helps LA win the finals I personally dont care how many all star games he is selected for.

I just don't know about Bynum, I mean at best he will be a good player. But not a star. Just like last night against the Miami Heats thats known to be a small team without a center... instead of dominating like he should, Bynum was totally lost and finished with 4 pts and 4 fouls. I just don't know which quality star was still playing like this frequently in their 4th yr.

Hawes will be a better player than Bynum if Hawes continues to believe in himself and exert his best effort every game. It already shows talent-wise that Hawes has got more potential. The only reason why Bynum still looks better than Hawes is because he's got more experience than Hawes and he's got team mates that makes him look good. But Hawes will catch-up in 2-3 years time.
