Since Bonzi is playing like the type of player we've always needed, maybe we should let Peja walk next year(or use him in a S&T), sign Bonzi to an extension, then start Garcia at the 3. And then build our team up from there.

AriesMar27 said:true but if peja or bonzi are s&t i wouldnt see a need to start either martin or garcia and our bench would still suck..... we could start thomas and reef at the forwards but then our defense would be even worse..... how slow would this team be with miller, reef and thomas starting together?
what happens to corliss? isnt his contract ending? who can we trade for? wonder if memphis would trade shane battier.....

Is this team even close to making that kind of a run? If the team isn't championship caliber, doesn't that mean changes are necessary to make the team a championship caliber team?

You never know!
Rashard lewis a decent shooter and pretty good at dfense. I think the Kings could use someone like him.........

I want to see what THIS group of players can do before we start deciding it's time to ship any of them off. (With the exception of getting KG to come here, of course.)
I'm gonna view each game, watching for improvement, looking for subtle nuances, and enjoying the season as it unfolds. It just seems so premature to be talking about what's going to happen after this season. To me, the journey itself is more than just reaching the destination.
Agreed. If this is the bottom, so be it. 50 win seasons when your team is at their low point ain't that bad. Anyways, we're ahead of the Lakers right now, good enough for me at this point.chelle said:However, the fact is, NO TEAM is a contender each year. Things cycle. We have been on a downward arch the past couple seasons. Right now, we are pretty much at the bottom. Which means, IMHO, that we will be on the upswing soon.

Bricklayer said:That's just wasting time. Believe that a franchise should only be in two modes: 1) rebuilding, or 2) moving toward contention. And you try to limit 1) as much as possible. Make every change you have to make in as short a period of time as possible, get all the players you need, and then settle in and only make subtle changes therafter + let the team develop chemistry and consistency. Which would be exactly what we did in '99. And what we should be doing again. Are you a contender? No? Then let's speed things along please. The rest is just a waste of time.
