Actually, I believe they brought it up on draft day as a possible reason for his slipping down in the draft...

Hell, Jerry Garcia was missing a finger and he played guitar, and one hell of a banjo!
Kinda like Jango Reinhart (sp). Lost two fingers and plays amazing guitar.

Okay, back to the topic at hand *feels semi-guilty*

On his shooting hand too, I believe. I'm very curious as to whether it will affect his game (ie more turnovers).

Played, but I'm sure you knew that since you knew about his fingers.;)

And that drummer from Def Leppard is missing his whole arm?....
IIRC, he once said he had to learn to play the drums all over again and became a better drummer because of it. Got rid of a whole bunch of "lazy" habits.

http://www.thewavemag.com/pagegen.php?pagename=article&articleid=22659

is a pretty good article on it. A few bits:

TW: I was in high school when Hysteria came out and I remember everyone being very inspired by you in a “Wow. He has one arm and he’s still rocking!” sort of way.
RA: You know, I get that a lot and it’s really cool. I feel blessed that I’m in this situation. I remember when I first lost my arm – people would ask me for my autograph and they’d be standing there looking really sad. So I started doing these little stick people, a regular stick person with one arm holding a drumstick or a peace sign or whatever. Then their faces started lighting up. But it was kind of strange at first – people were sad for me and I didn’t necessarily wanna go there for myself because I’d been wallowing in that particular part of myself for a while. [The accident] put a giant full-stop at the end of that period of my life. It was like, “Okay, you’ve gotta do it differently now.”

TW: Yeah man! You’ve got the most famous non-arm in modern history.
RA: The funny thing is when people ask me where the arm is. I’m like, well, I don’t know where the (expletive deleted) thing is.

TW: Who designed your one-armed drum kit, and what does it entail, gear-wise?
RA: It’s half acoustic, half electronic. I use a real kick, a real snare and all real cymbals, and then I make samples of my real snare drum and place those in a sampler and trigger those sounds using my left foot on a foot pedal on the floor.

I forgot Django was missing a pair of digits as well. Glad to see there are some other jazz affectionadios arround here! Chet Baker also had his front teeth taken out (differings stories on this) and then relearned to paly trumpet, so the point is a dedicated professional with tallent can adjust to these relivivly minor "handicaps" to the extent that they are of NO consequence to their game.

Technically, Reinhardt wasn't missing fingers per se. He did lose almost all function of his third and fourth fingers on his fretting hand in a fire.

I believe Green is a righty, which could mean some problems with a consistent releast on his jumper. But I guess we'll see. I was certainly hoping he or Granger would free fall all the way to the Kings.

Just read where Dr. John the pianist is missing a finger (shot off in his Heroin days) Just thought I'd ad one more mangled musician to the list.

Think of what you could do with 2 extra fingers. I'm all for it.
This guy really couldn't do all that much more... he had a whole extra point finger on both hands, but the tendons were shared with thumb, so when he moved the thumb it automatically moved the other finger - kinda creepy.

John Bobbit was missing something and that didn't stop him from becoming a "movie" star.
