I am SICK and TIRED of all this media talk about the Kings giving up!!!!

I guess any tough times that the team may face will separate the true fan from the fair weather fan.

Maybe I'll be able to pick up A pair of tickets or two per season at Arco like I used to instead of having to pay a fortune through a broker.

what pisses me off is i didnt believe the ride was over. neither did chris. he said so just 2 days ago. i would be willing to bet all the rest of the kings still believed in themselves, too. i just can't believe geoff petrie, the man who created this team from the ground up, lost the faith first....very disappointing.

so true...its not even the trade just that it leaves the Kings with nowhere to go

if we had gotten something good in return, i wouldn't be this upset and devastated.

i'm also going to miss webb's personality, heart, and determination. that just hurts.

i think it would be better if we traded a chevy for 3 bicycles (literally). you know, so you don't have any attachment to it emotionally.

right now, sadly, i'd have to agree with the media saying we can't contend now. the west is just too strong, and bigs are just so important. i don't agree with them when they say the kings (ie the players) have given up. they know the situation they are in, but they are still working very hard.

There's a difference between giving up and no longer believing. There was one shaky moment in the first half where it looked like we mgiht cross that barrier -- just say its too much, we can't do it, and go quietly into the night to mope. But we didn't. We didn't give up.

But there's a difference between that and really believing you have a chance to win it all. Our guys showed now that, at least for the moment, they still have their pride and they're still going to fight. But are they confident? Do they believe they can win it all? I sincerely doubt it. They know what this trade meant.

I don't think the Kings are just throw up their hands and give up. They have what 28 more games to play. I believe we are going to see a hard working passionate team come out of all this. Can we make it to the playoffs. SURE. Are going to. Who knows?
Only time will tell. No matter what, this fan has NOT GIVEN UP ON THEM!

C-Webb does what????

I'm really sick of hearing about how great C-Webb is. Sure, he's a decent player, but face it ... he's getting old and is very inconsistent. Some days he moves like Evans, other days he moves like Frankenstein. I know it isn't his fault, you know ... getting old! Bottom line, I don't see how we could win a championship with this guy and at the same time, I believe that there is some evidence to suggest that his attitude always made everybody else play subservient roles. Ever notice how Brad Miller plays when Webber is on the floor verses when he's not? Notice the play of other players as well. I always get the feeling that Webb is the alpha male and the guys just let him go and don't put in the effort when Webb's out on the floor. Just take a look at last season .... need I say more?
Bottom line .. I don't think we had a snow flakes chance on the sun of winning a championship this year with Webb. Maybe our chances just improved???? Bottom line is, maybe some realists realized that we need to rebuild if we hope to ever win a championship!!!!!

i don't think this season is over by any means.

the kings title hopes this year weren't very big to begin with with the way the team with webber rebounded or defended.

hopefully the new pieces help with the defense. they aren't huge guys, so i'm not sure about the rebounding, but if thomas could go back averging 10 a night like he did last year, that would be awesome.

the kings showed tonight that they didn't give up. they played with big time heart, only to tire at the end.

My thought exactly........ Last night game wasn't as bad as some people (including myself) expected it to be. Those guys put up a fight. And considering we didn't even play with the whole team, I think that was actually a pretty decent game.

I was thinking about that last night. We got into the 4th & I got thought that this team has no confidence that they can pull it out in the end. We have great guys & they are going to put 100% out there every night of the week. BUT, how do you have confidence in yourself & this season when the management pulled the plug. This trade is painful in a lot of ways, and one of the most glaring is that the management team did not feel that this was a championship team, EVEN with WEBB. Obviously our chances are now even more remote. Webb was also the guy who pushed the others to believe, who said any short of a championship is not enough, and who thought we could do it. With this trade all that changes. Not that we don't have talent, and not that we can't make a run at it, but the confidence and passion has to come from somewhere. Management is looking for greener pastures, and Webb is gone. Guess somebody else better step up.

That fat-@$$ chuckie said it best "they are dead". I hope we turn the ship around, show teams we are not dead and at least get to the Western Conf finals just to show this big phat piece of ...... that we can be better than he thinks. Im so tired of Barkley, this dude gets on my nerves when I watch TNT. GRRRRRR!!!!!! What did we ever do to him?

I am NOT, repeat NOT a Barkley fan...He speaks to hear himself talk and that's it. Most of the time he has no logic to his statements..i feel For both Kenny's on that show

Charles Barkley is an entertainer, not an analyst.

couldn't of said it better myself RD

i like Chuck when he's being funny..outside of "analyzing" games but..when it comes to analyzing you'd think he'd never played or viewed the game of basketball at all...and really you wouldn't expect that from a guy who is among the 50 greatest players of all time...you'd think people would really look to him to give some really good insight..but nope people look for him for entertainment purposes only...if he wasn't funny he'd never of been on TNT this long

WORD.

The most to-the-point post I have read since the trade.

I share the same feeling with you. See my post in another thread:

Of course we will make the playoffs. To make such a statement is a slap on the face to the Kings. Not only will they make the playoffs, our record will be significantly better before the playoffs start. Im guesing we will finish 3rd in the conference.
Of course we will make the playoffs?

Making the playoffs is not a given.

Do you hear what Peja and Brad both said after the trade? Our goal is to make the playoffs. Sounds like a 76ers team before the trade.

I can tell the confident of our players is in all-time low right now. I know they will play with heart and try their best. But deep down they know we are not going anywhere with the current lineup.

Smith and Barkley are just personalities, your kidding your self if you think they sit down everyday and really analyze whats goin on in the NBA. they get paid to talk and they do it fairly well, thats all.
