I am excited about 09-10

I have been thinking a lot about the Kings this summer and I feel like this season, we will get to see which members of the youth movement are working out. After the all-star break, I hope this team will be able to really pick up their game and make the case for a strong year in 09-10. It is exciting to me; this year, unless a miracle occurs, will be a number eight seed playoff appearance at very, very best, but next year... things might start happening... exciting, positive things... positive things involving Hawes, Marting, Garcia, Thompson, and Greene... wonderful, athletic things...

What are your thoughts? Are you excited?

Nope - not about something 2 years from now will million uncertainties surrounding it.

Call me old-fashioned, but I'm excited about 08-09. I'm old; I might not even be around for 09-10...

:p

I'm with you. Well not the part about how you might retire with your millions and live on a private island with no tv or internet by '09-'10 But I am excited for this year. I have no expectations of us winning 30+ games, but will be excited to watch the youth working their tails off instead of veterans slacking off. There are a lot of promising, young players on this team, I am more excited to watch the games on League Pass than I have been since we were elite.

I am just excited for this year. The Kings may not win a lot of games, but as long as they are competitive and improve as the season goes on, I'll be happy. I have patience. The Chiefs are my favorite football team for crying out loud. If The Kings are even competitive, that's a step up from what the Chiefs are. LOL

Yeah, that's what I basically want from the team this year. If we can win20-30 games, develop the youth and have a number of close games that we just don't close out then it will be a successful season. I know it's a relatively low hurdle for us to clear, but still a good one for us right now.

I am also excited to finally watch this young team test their might against the other NBA teams. I don't care if they only win less than 25 games as long as they show a playoff-type of effort in each game they play. I hope one of my biggest question in mind can be answered soon in this coming season:

Who among our promising young players will emerged as a potential DOUBLE-DOUBLE PLAYER game-after-game?

HAWES?

Will Hawes be able to redeem himself after all the recent negative publicities which he brought upon himself?

Can he validate fans' hope that he could be the " future center " for the Kings by raking in close to a DOUBLE-DOUBLE ( rebounds / points scored ) average in the first five games which he will most likely start?

Is he capable of defending against the other teams' "bigs" with the physical and psychological limitations brought about by his previous knee injury?

Is he going to " play CENTER " or " play CUTE with his jumpshots " ?

THOMPSON?

Will Thompson repay the Kings for selecting him as high as #12 in the draft by at least showing he has the "real" potential in the NBA to be a DOUBLE-DOUBLE ( rebounds / points scored )?

Will he start his NBA career by playing according to fans' fantasy - THOMPSON, the shot blocker and monster in rebounds?

GREENE?

With his height and athleticism, can he be groomed to be a DOUBLE-DOUBLE ( rebounds / points scored ) player?

BROWN?

Will he be able to challenge UDRIH at the starting point guard position by showing he could be a DOUBLE-DOUBLE ( assists / points scored ) player?

The games this coming season will surely be exciting to watch again.

I am impressed with the videos i have seen of hawes lately. he looks alot stronger. and i think he can be a dbl dbl guy.

Thompson besides Kmart is my favorite player....but I wanted the kings to pick him before the draft even happened. hes a very good player and will be a better rebounder then brads 9.5 last year with mins.

I'm looking forward to this season...as well as '09-'10.

We'll likely have two new rooks next season, and possibly a new FA (bench likely) acquisition. I don't think we'll be bad enough to finish in the top six of the lottery, but hopefully we pull a Chicago Bulls and luck out...a guy like BJ Mullens, Ricky Rubio, or Blake Griffin could do wonders for this team.

I'm excited for this season. And c'mon VF, we're going to stubbornly hang around until the Kings win it all, preferably while stomping the stuffing out of the Lakers enroute. ;)

at least 3 consecutive times while Bavetta is still in his prime

Not a bit. Far too many uncertainties. Rebuilding is a necessary process, but it usually isn't very pretty. I just hope the team injects some fun this year.
