I think those numbers are misleading. They bought a majority share in the team. There are other minority owners so they take up part of the $350 million value.

$5.3 million divided by the $156 million invested = 3.4% return rate on their money. Plus the increased value of the team, which actually dropped $9 million the past year. And really it's true value can only be assesed when someone is will to buy it.

You beat me to it. Unless they're drawing huge salaries from the club, that's really not a good return on investment during a period where the team was elite or near elite and economy was growing.

I am gonna guess that the club is carrying too much debt and servicing that debt ate up all the profits when Kings were doing well (1998-2004).
