How do you mend a broken heart?

That's the bottom line. I can continue to love this team and wait for it to get better, or I can let someone like Grant Napear into my head, ruining everything.

Sorry, Grant. You've been evicted.

GO KINGS!!!!

Yay! That's the spirit.

Indeed How Do you Mend... was a tune written by the bro Gibb, although a very nice version was recorded by Al Green as well.

Perhaps VF21 meant "Crying" or "Love Hurts" by Roy... I for one prefer "In Dreams"
A candy-colored clown they call the sandman
Tiptoes to my room every night
Just to sprinkle stardust and to whisper
"Go to sleep. Everything is all right."

I close my eyes, Then I drift away
Into the magic night. I softly say
A silent prayerLike dreamers do.
Then I fall asleep to dream My dreams of you.

In dreams I walk with you. In dreams I talk to you.
In dreams you're mine. All of the time we're together
In dreams, In dreams.

But just before the dawn, I awake and find you gone.
I can't help it, I can't help it, if I cry.
I remember that you said goodbye.

It's too bad that all these things, Can only happen in my dreams
Only in dreams In beautiful dreams.

It's hard for all Kings fans right now, because now we have HINDSIGHT, which we didn't when past things went down. Having said that, there's a lot of frustration for everyone about what is going on with this team. We all want answers and we all want this mess fixed, but the reality is that this team is in transition, and we as fans either got to suck it up or bail. It's not getting better any time soon. This team is not very good and this season isn't going anywhere. That's just the way it is. Even Kreidler said just to take the wins and not let the losses kill ya.

I don't personally, not do I believe that VF has a problem with a team 'in transition' Losing sucks, but we have done it before. What I DO take exception to is revisinist history and being blatently lied to. That trade wasn't made to make the team better, that trade wasn't made because some guys may have had a couple of words or there was friction (like THAT never happens in freaking sports) that trade was made because the Maloofs didn't want to be on the hook for Chris' salary IF something happened. Period. All this crap about us not being a contending team with Webber has now been exposed as just not the REAL reason for the trade, because we CERTAINLY aren't contenders NOW.
To try to put down and tarnish memories that we have is just childish and stupid on the part of the organization, hell, right now, they are the only things we have left. But they (and their mouthpiece) continue to lie to us, continue to try to 'sell' us the idea the trade was 'for our own good' like a spanking.

It's become a pattern that teams which trade Chris Webber often crash and burn afterwards. It was true with the Warriors, the Bullets/Wizards, and now it's true with us. During his entire tenure with the Kings, so many of us criticized Webber (e.g. not being clutch enough, too selfish, moody, damaged goods), because he wasn't Michael Jordan or Tim Duncan, maybe we should have just appreciated him for who he was, and that was a terrific player, and not who we thought he should have been. Because it's more apparent now than ever that he was an incredibly crucial part of this team, and not someone we should've traded for Thomas, Skinner, and Williamson, regardless of Napear's comments.

Update:

First, oops. I did, of course, mean the BeeGees. I had thought about "Love Hurts," though, so that must have been the cross-wiring in my poor little brain that caused me to say Roy Orbison.

;)

I don't get depressed very often. I guess everything came together and really got me down the other night. I really appreciate all the nice comments people have had made.

I LOVE THIS TEAM! I hate some of the things that have been said or written about them, but I'm going to follow the advice of someone who said to follow my heart.

MY HEART knows how much Webber meant to the Kings, regardless of what may have led to the trade. And people like Grant Napear, whatever their motiviation or agenda, do not have the key to my heart like this team does.

GO KINGS!!!!!

My heart knows how to pump blood. My amygdalo-cortical pathway appreciates Webber for the excitement and joy he brought the Kings.

i keep singing this song to myself everytime i feel like giving up:

dark is the night\we can battle the storm\never say-die\ weve been down this road before\we never quit\we never lay down\see we promise ourselves that we'd never let them down\so we'll never give up\never give in\never let a ray of doubt slip in\and if they fall\they'll never fail\they just get up and try again\never lose hope\never lose faith\there's much too much at stake\upon themselves they must depend\theyre not looking for place ashore\theyre gonna WIN!!\
