Both. Sad to see Peja go, hope the team gets some more toughness, hope Ron-Ron can get proper medication to hold his head together for a couple years....

Time to wipe his slate clean and see what he can bring to the team. I hope he can prove me wrong and does this city proud.

i am happy in a bad way. so many people wanted peja out, so it was for the best. but i am afraid getting rid of him and bringing artest in will make things worse in about a month's time when the initial feelings subside.

We should give him a prop 215 evaluation. Maybe that will chill him out. He's in Cali now...

I am happy about the trade itself, we are getting a player who fills a need for our team on the court in defense and rebounding and also is able to score at a good clip. Whether he can keep his head together is a whole other issue of course.

I just wonder about what could have been. What if we had been able to trade Peja for Artest when he wanted a trade back when we still had Webber? Miller/Webber/Artest/Wells/Bibby would be one scary lineup. About a metric ton of heart and desire on the court at the same time.

Happy for Kings as Artest brings scoring, rebounding, big time hustle, toughness, really good defender and he is only in the league 6 years. He is everything the Kings need. The thought of he and Bonzi as the 3 and 2 is awesome.

Concerned if Petrie and Adelman and Coachie can keep him under control and focused on his game and not his music company.

Sad for Peja as I really believe he did want to stay in Sacto. But NBA is a business not a social club.

Lets not get ansy guys, trade is not official until its on Kings.com or sacbee. Its still pending league approval. For all we know Artest might be too wacky for the league hehe

I'm excited. The Kings needed a change, and this is it. Always hard to see a longtime King go, especially the last of the 98-99 crew. But in the end, I think the Kings will be better off for it.

i believe this trade could be for the better but i'm really sad to see peja leave.

he's been here a long time. he just said he wants to stay here and finish his career. so wow. that sucks.

i'm extremely sad because i'm an attached kingsfan. i get attached to players easily. i will continue to root for them but WOW this blows. hurts my heart.

Ill put it this way. GETTING ARTEST FOR PEJA?!?! that is a steal on the trading market. If artest dosent work...look at all the teams that want him..if he does work...holy crap the possibilities...bonzi and artest... thats alot of headcase...but if you get them to work together...WOW that is the most intimidating OG/SF combo in the league..
I love the trade

Peja needs different digs. He can't thrive with the guys the Kings have. If Artest plays at 80% full attention he will give the Kings more than Peja has this year (and last).

One more trade. At least now what I've been wishing for all year will come to fruition. Martin or Garcia (preferrably Martin) will be packaged with Rahim or the Philly 3 and the Kings will get someone bigger than what we got.

Oh yeah. I like it.

I feel spectacular. I've wanted this for a long time. I'm glad they didn't make us wait long to find out. It was killing me ever since I read the rumors this morning.

Artest is a home run swing--you may get a homer, but you may also get a strikeout. As a Pacers seasonticket holder (and a Kingsfan)--I'm happy to get rid of RA--he ruined 2 straight seasons here--but now unhappy that I will have to watch him for the Kings. Simply put, I HATE RA for what he did to our city and the Pacers after we stood by him. He is a Judas, and will ALWAY put himself above the Kings. I think the Kings--at some point--will be sorry they made this trade. Maybe not this week, or this month, but at some point--for sure.

How much trouble can he get in living in SAC...not much. If he stays away from Oakland he will be fine. Maybe Miller will take him hunting

Well, according to this: "Artest... averaged 19.6 points and 4.7 rebounds this season."
Compared to this: Stojakovic... is averaging 16.4 points ... and 5.3 rebounds this season."

Looks like more scoring and less rebounding with Artest. Yeah, just what the team needs. Now, this is obviously a messed up season for both of them, but I was NEVER a fan of Artest coming here. The only upside is I think if he can behave himself for awhile he may become very attractive trade bate. And, he appears to be physically healthy.

Webber and Vlade, with all of their business and charity activities, never appeared to let it detract from their game. Many players are involved in business outside of just playing for their team ( and I don't mean the occassional photo shoot for endoresements) and they keep things separated. Jimmy Jackson has at least one restaurant. Don't see him showing up for training camp out of shape and asking for time off.

Agree with you on that one. I think Peja needed to be traded. But I think Artest may very well blow up in our faces.

How do you feel about Peja as a Pacer?

I'm so happy if this is true. It's wierd, it's hard to really believe this- through all the Artest drama I figured Petrie would never do this. I am glad that this happened- Kings are crap right now, Artest could realistically turn us in to a contender- we know have a legitimatelly decent defensive team- just wait until we get back Bonzi. Artest should give us plenty of scoring, Bibby will be Bibby, then we got Wells, SAR and Miller. Add to that Thomas, who has actually been playing well of late, Martin showing off his newfound confidence, Garcia contributing some solid play...this team can go places. Of course Ron might go off, but we are better now for it. This HAD to be done. I've been saying all year something needs to change, and this is the right move. We don't lose Peja for nothing (or give his declining value butt a max contract). We give ourselves a chance in the future. GP needed to take a risk and do something. This is it. Whatever happens, right now this is the right move and the future won't change it. I applaud this wholeheartedly.

Do I like that trade? I honestly don't know. I felt so sad to see Peja go, especially after reading the article in the Bee saying that he'd like to retire here. Ugh, I knew it was bad luck to say that!

Seriously, Peja is one of the last pieces of the Kings that gave us some incredible years. It's sad to see him go...

And Artest, is well, Artest. I guess to put a positive spin on it, I don't think we'll be bored.
