How about these dream deals?

I don't know if the salaries amtch, but I would love to trade Peja for Shariff Abdul Rahim (sp?). He can play both the 3 and 4 position, I think.

Dream deal voting results

Published 2:15 am PST Wednesday, February 16, 2005

We asked you to vote for your favorite dream deal for the Kings, and you responded. In a vote hounded by more irregularities than a Florida election, our totally unscientific poll yielded some interesting results. As of 7 p.m. Tuesday night, a majority - 35 percent - wanted to see Peja Stojakovic and Matt Barnes shipped to Denver for Carmelo Anthony, Nene and Greg Buckner. Thirty-four percent wanted the team to stand pat. A trade of Chris Webber to New York in a three-team deal that would have seen Utah's Carlos Boozer and Matt Harpring become Kings was favored by 23 percent.

More than 2,000 votes were registered.
35% is not a majority, it's a plurality.

And those deals suck, get me AK47 ASAP.

Here's a response to my email about this article, for what it is worth. I guess this new sports editor thinks this type of article is "fun".

Hi Ms. Lee,

Thanks for writing.

I'm sorry you did not like the piece, but the intention was to have fun with the sports section. As the new sports editor at the Bee, I plan on trying some different things with the section. Some people will like them, yes, like you some won't. But we don't want to be a stale sports section.

Thanks for reading.

Bill Bradley?? The former basketball star and he ran for President once?
JK. Hehe.

That's a funny reply, Lightforms. I guess these trade talks is for "fun". My best suggestion, just don't read them.

i say trade both of 'em (heres my pipedream scenario):

New York trades:
SF Tim Thomas (10.2 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 1.3 apg in 26.4 minutes)
C Nazr Mohammed (11.2 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 0.5 apg in 28.5 minutes)

New York receives:
PF Chris Webber (21.3 ppg, 9.8 rpg, 5.5 apg in 36.1 minutes)
Change in team outlook: -0.1 ppg, -1.9 rpg, and +3.7 apg.

Boston trades:
SF Paul Pierce (22.0 ppg, 6.9 rpg, 4.3 apg in 36.1 minutes)
PG Gary Payton (12.2 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 6.2 apg in 32.8 minutes)
PF Al Jefferson (7.0 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 0.3 apg in 16.0 minutes)

Boston receives:
SF Tim Thomas (10.2 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 1.3 apg in 26.4 minutes)
SF Peja Stojakovic (19.7 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 1.9 apg in 38.3 minutes)
SG Kevin Martin (3.0 ppg, 1.6 rpg, 0.6 apg in 10.9 minutes)

Change in team outlook: -8.3 ppg, -5.5 rpg, and -7.0 apg.

Sacramento trades:
PF Chris Webber (21.3 ppg, 9.8 rpg, 5.5 apg in 36.1 minutes)
SF Peja Stojakovic (19.7 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 1.9 apg in 38.3 minutes)
SG Kevin Martin (3.0 ppg, 1.6 rpg, 0.6 apg in 10.9 minutes)

Sacramento receives:
C Nazr Mohammed (11.2 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 0.5 apg in 28.5 minutes)
SF Paul Pierce (22.0 ppg, 6.9 rpg, 4.3 apg in 36.1 minutes)
PG Gary Payton (12.2 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 6.2 apg in 32.8 minutes)
PF Al Jefferson (7.0 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 0.3 apg in 16.0 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +8.4 ppg, +7.4 rpg, and +3.3 apg.

TRADE ACCEPTED

New York gets C-Webb & gets rid of Thomas's bad contract. Boston gets rid of GP (who says hed play for sac) and get peja & Special K. They also take on Thomas' contract for one more year, but then he comes off the books & they can re-sign Peja. Sacramento gets Nazr Mohammad, Paul Pierce, Gary Payton, and the young PF Al Jefferson. Sacramento gets tougher defensively with Nazr Mohammad at center & Brad Miller at PF and deeper with Payton and Jefferson coming off the bench.

I think thats more likely than the Carmelo/Nene/Buckner for Peja/Barnes scenario...

everyone is saying a trade is coming, either webb or peja gets involved. is that one of the reasons that our guys were kind of lacking their energy on court lately?
