how about maggette?

don't know if this was discussed... but corey maggette in a kings uni would be sweet. there is a young, very athletic, very offensively creative player who can create his own shot, hit the three, and is just entering the prime of his career.

anyway, i just like the thought of adding such an athletic player to the Kings, something they are seriously lacking *again*....

thoughts? of course, i'm not saying trade away the core of this team to get him, but he's probably available and not too happy in lala land...

I guessing the reason he wants out of LA is because he is a player very capable of starting somewhere in this league, and they have him as a sixth man...With Martin, Artest, Salmons and Cisco, there just is no room for him.

If we're starting to see the first sign on Ron-Ron's inevitable meltdown (i.e., his knee mysteriously starts hurting half an hour before gametime as the Kings are going through a rough spot), I can think of worse things than replacing him with Maggette. According to Real GM, Maggette and Q-Ross for Artest works under the cap. Not advocating that trade per se, but let's face it: there have always been a lot of concerns about building around Artest long-term.

I've been talking to people all day about this and, frankly it is being blown out of proportion. Mo Taylor wasn't activated because Artest didn't notify the team that he couldn't play. Does that really matter?

Had been thinking of this since the Wizards game, and the sudden news of sore knees. Such a deal might work, and, under current times, when questions about Artest must be starting all over again around the league, might be the best that we might get.

Of course, if it happens, Artest shall make it his personal mission to ensure that our ownership of the Clips ends. If he stays focused, that team shall be scary good.

Past history of a person can not be overlooked. Happens everywhere.

In the case of any other player, we would be concerned about the injury. In this case, we shall all be happy, if it is actually a case of injury (albeit not a serious one).

You're probably right about Ron making it his mission to kill the Kings if he goes to the Clips. Still, I believe you have to do what's right for YOUR team. If the Kings decide that Ron should go and Magette is the best trade they can make, that's what they ought to do regardless of what it does for (or to) the Clips.

BTW, I'm not necessarily accusing Ron of dogging it, just concerned with some of his recent actions and statements ("I'm our LeBron, I'm our Kobe, I'm the Alpha and the Omega," to paraphrase)
