Hoopshype Kings Season Preview

I don't like how I agree with most everything in the article and their prediction is 15th in the West haha. I can't help but believe we won't finish last, someone has to be worse than us this year right?

Ya, I hate it when they're right. Unless another team has injuries I'm afraid it is what they say it is.

"PROJECTION: 5th in the Pacific Division 15th in the Western Conference"

Sounds about right.
sad but true... though i think that we will be better than the warriors, thunder, rockets and twolves this season in the western conference... and the sixers, bucks and possibly bobcats in the east...

we will be a bad team but i think there will be worse teams as long as we are healthy....

As others have said, I hardly doubt we will end up being last place in the league two years running. Although I'm not saying Tyreke is a savior, I do think our team is significantly better with him playing, and less time for Beno. At this point, I feel the Kings are actually better than the Clippers and Memphis.

However if we do get last, and the basketball gods don't axe Sacramento twice, John Wall is a nice consolation prize.

even without evans i dont think that we will be last in the nba again... as long as we can stay healthy we can end up with a better record than last seasons horrible record.

Having some stability out the coaching staff (and some direction as well) should get the Kings at least 5-10 more wins IMO. How many games did the Kings lose by 5 pts or less last season? I know some of that can be put on the players, but how many times were we left scratching our heads at the play called in the finals seconds? I personally lost count.

thats what i was thinking... the little things add up, even if its only a few wins here and there.... a coach that knows when to call a timeout and has a competent rotation at the end of games.... scrubs like douby shouldnt be taking game winning shots.

If Westphal merely does those things, I'll be satisfied with his first year as head coach of the Kings. When you look back on the years since Adelman left, we haven't had head coaches. We've had pretenders or imposters. I'm not even sure I remember what competent coaching looks like - but I'll sure I'll recognize it when I see it.

:)

Good call. BTW, I remember asking myself, what was Douby doing in at the end of games anyway? At least we dont have to worry about that this year since Douby is no longer on the team. Also, I dont think we'll have to worry about having a poser coach this year with Westphal, since he's won in the league before.
