1) With both Rondo and Cousins on the court, the Kings have scored 104.7 points per 100 possessions, a Top 10 rate in the league.

2) Cousins is on the verge of becoming the sixth player in NBA history to average 27-plus points, 11-plus rebounds, 3-plus assists and 1.4-plus blocks. The other names on that list:Bob McAdoo, Chris Webber, Shaquille O’Neal, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Hakeem Olajuwon.

3) In games where the Kings have played league-average defense or better in terms of points allowed per possession, they have won 21 of 33, a 63.6 percent win rate and a 52-win pace extrapolated over the full season. In games where they’ve been below average, Sacramento is just 8-33.

etc,

Indeed interesting stats.
But the rest of the article is crap IMHO.
Very negative about the Kings... without mentionning George Karl even once !

so all it takes is Cousins to be on the court and for the team as a whole to try a little more on defense to start winning games? who would of thought! :O

I didn't read anything negative that wasn't previously discussed here and everywhere else. They didn't mention Karl directly, but did note that team defense is where coaching shines and that's one of our largest faults.

It's negative because we've been the second crappiest team for 8 years. That's a lot of negative. The article was pretty fair regarding how much we suck.

I will go out on a limb and say that every one of those guys had the team's game plan tailored to fit their style. This makes Cousins' year that much more insane. Dude was completely mishandled the first half of the season and still threw up historic numbers. All the more reason to fully get behind this guy, hire the right coach, fill in the holes and have him lead us to the promise land.

Cousins adapted to Karl's playing style when he shouldn't of, but he still did. What this did was only expand his game and not strictly have him as a post player. That's one positive I can take with Karl being here, I'm sure Cousins himself took it upon himself to expand his game to the perimeter, we've been seeing it happen every season in small increments and he is almost a finished product if he can get the attitude toned down, doesn't necessarily need to get rid of it, he won't. He's passionate, don't make him a robot. We need players with hunger and passion. Players feed off of it. Fans love it.

etc,

These stats make me think that Karl, Cousins and Rondo are great together. It looks like Karl knows exactly how to get the most out of DMC. My conclusion would be to keep these 3 together and surround them with some better defensive players.

fixed.

other than that, I completely agree.

It really needs to be repeated that what cousins is doing individually is truly astounding given the circumstances.

He rose above it all to put up all time great numbers.

Some credit might be deserved.

If George Karl had managed to make ANY defensive adjustments then I could see the argument for keeping him. Karl's offense did not suit Boogie's strengths but it did expand his game. And the offense did suit Rondo pretty well and it was great for Casspi. But without the ability to get stops and with a defensive scheme that gave up driving lanes and mismatches every time opponents ran a pick and roll there was no way the Kings could be successful.
