Just think Petrie will give him mid level to him that why i think its dumb.
What evidence do you have for this? We will actually have some free money available to sign one of those highly vaunted phantom free agents to a deal.
Petrie has made so many bad trades/signings but he drafts great, especially last year.
Questionable, yes, but not bad. We made the choice to rebuild, which essentially consists of dismantling the old building and selling off the scraps for spare parts that you hope fit together with the shiny new pieces.
mikki Moore mid level lol,
Here, I must agree with you. But he wasn't a crap player, he was actually moderately useful just not a guy worth the full MLE.
webber trade was **** (even if rahim played),
People tend to forget that at the time we were happy to get rid of C-Webb for "movable pieces". All three guys we acquired contributed for us, but weren't moved. K9 had several triple doubles for us the first couple of years he was here before being banished to the bench in favor of the aforementioned Most Invisible Man With Dreadlocks. Brian Skinner had a few games for us where he posted ridiculous stats and played semi-solid post defense. Big Nasty contributed to the best of his abilities during Muss's Titanic year and became one of the few Kings from the (very early) glory days to actually retire a King.
salmons was a gem but trading that for Noch wow that was smart.
Actually it was smart. The only thing worse than having Noce on this team right now would be having Salmons on the Kings. People like to complain about Tyreke's "lack of ball movement" but Salmons seemed to be convinced that he was Kobe during his last year here. And looking at Chicago's fan sites, it appears that much hasn't changed as he is consistently lambasted for stealing the ball away from the team's hot stud former Memphis Tiger PG. I can assure you that the same would be happening here. He would be a horrible horrible fit for our team since he is essentially 'Reke without the beastliness, clutch ability, room for improvement, and general skill. Plus that deal got us out from beneath the crushing wings of Miller's albatross contract. So in conclusion, Noce is bad but Salmons is worse.
They choose Christie and Songolia over Wallace when the expansion draft happened.
Oh Come on! You've got to remember that at this point, Christie was the glue holding the last battered bits of our team together! Wallace was a super athletic SF/SG that sucked at pretty much anything except dunking and getting hurt. He also had a propensity for Donte-esque chucking. At that point he was nothing but potential and we were still looking towards the Western Conference Finals. Songaila was also a pretty good contributor for us off of the bench in those days, not necessarily a guy who should have been placed above Wallace but what are you going to do? What happened happened.
Peja for Artest trade really didnt mean much since Peja was still good till he was a fa.
Most people 'round here think the Maloofs were more responsible for this trade than Petrie. Pedja also was sucking eggs his last season here and the Artest trade essentially jump started the franchise to a (near(sorta))Upset of the Spurs in the Playoffs. On his good days, Ron was an excellent player. On his bad days, well, Ron was Ron-Ron the Clown. The Pedja trade led to the Ron-Ron Trade which netted us Casspi/Greene/ Bobby Jackson, which is looking like the rosier side of the trade since Ron Ron bolted for LA a year later anyways.
At least he got Evans and Casspi amazing draft.
That draft night wouldn't have happened without some of the aforementioned "bad trades". If we don't trade away some of our old talent, we win a few more games and we end up with Jordan Hill or Tyler Hansborough. If we don't pull the Pedja trade, we end up not trading Ron Ron and getting Greene/ the pick that turned into Omri. I know it's hard to look past single moves, but GMing a team is truly like putting together a puzzle. It's time to stop looking at the individual pieces and look at the entire puzzle itself.
