Hey Vivek, I miss playoff basketball!

I don't expect him to be a 16th century samurai. In fact, I believe that the people making this bigger than it is are mores the ones saying that its bigger than it is. I think his attending the Warriors game is dishonorable as the owner of the Sacramento Kings, especially considering the state of the franchise. That's that, and many people would agree.

This event itself not a big deal, but this is one of the instances that makes me feel more uneasy about Vivek's future decision making.

My thought is that it isn't "dishonorable." What it is just might be a lack of judgment or, as others have said, an indication that Vivek needs a much wiser, more savvy public relations person to pilot him through these uncharted waters.

Agreed. I recall Maloof's (I think it was Joe) saying around 2007 that they needed to get out in Sacramento community more to just rub shoulders with locals, be more engaged with average Kings fans. I think it was partially unfavorable reaction to stupid million dollar burger TV commercial and just overall view that they were more isolated, aloof (hmmm, rhymes with Maloof;) here in town when around - instead of away at favorite Vegas stomping grounds. I'm not sure they ever connected regardless of intention or actually made any great effort at it.

Vivek no doubt needs local input not only from some wise PR person but perhaps should purchase a mansion like around Fabulous 40s not far from new arena going up and just soak in Sacramento at its finest - even when 100+ in the summer tree canopy shade:)

a little late to come out and say this don't you think? if he's the franchise player come out and let it be known he's untouchable. Grade V-. might drop down to Z+ by 2016.
Everything will be a little late for you when it comes to Vivek, because you've already made-up your mind about what you think about him maybe beginning on that moment he fired Malone.

I have a feeling you would forcefully and intentionally refused to remember what Vivek said about Cousins right after he fired Malone. And I am sure glad he already fired Malone. I fear the voice of Malone would corrupt his head and eventually makes him believe Cousins is not the main guy to go forward.

Anyways, let me remind you of how the main guys felt about Cousins:

Vivek Ranadivé speaks out on Malone firing
http://www.sactownroyalty.com/2014/12/17/7409997/vivek-ranadive-michael-malone-firing

"People said that Cousins was toxic, and he was a cancer and we should get rid of him. They said that Rudy [Gay] was terrible, and even if he came, he would never stay. They said if Isaiah [Thomas] left, the team would fall apart. So look, I'm surrounded by really smart people, and they give me great advice. They call the shots, and I support them."

Michael Malone opposed extensions for DeMarcus Cousins, Rudy Gay
http://www.sactownroyalty.com/2014/...osed-extensions-for-demarcus-cousins-rudy-gay

Sam Amick is delivering the other side of the story, emphasis mine.

From Malone's reluctance to endorse the offering of contract extensions for DeMarcus Cousins and Rudy Gayto his preference that departed point guard Isaiah Thomas was re-signed in free agency to the pursuit of a new lead assistant coach during the summer, there were disagreements about personnel and style of play at every turn that brought them all to this tipping point.

I don't know where the hatred of Vivek/FO in this board is coming from, ever since Malone was fired. I know they have not been perfect, but they have done a lot of the main things KF fans wanted in this board. Of course, except retaining the services of their favorite coach Malone, who most fans think as a very good coach. But we've got a more proven coach in Karl now. Besides, if Malone was indeed that very good coach worth the extreme uproar in this board, why is he not even rumored/considered by OKC?

KF fans concensus: Get rid of IT.
Mike Malone: No. I want IT. I need him for my never-ending one-on-one/iso-plays.
Vivek/FO: Ok. KF fans win. Let us get rid of IT. We needed the ball to move around more just like what KF fans want.

KF fans concensus: We needed to sign Gay to a contract extension.
Mike Malone: Oh well, I don't know about that. I'd probably rather have someone else signed an extension (guys like Landry).
Vivek/FO: What's wrong with Malone? Doesn't he know how hard it is to attract guys like Gay to play for Sacramento Kings? Scrubs like Jarret Jack would not even want to play in the cowbell town Sacramento!

KF concensus: It is a no brainer that we sign Cousins to a contract extension.
Mike Malone: Can we wait for him to prove himself first? He is a very good player, but not a franchise-type player deserving to be the top priority of this team. Besides, I heard he is toxic and a cancer. I know for a fact that Cousins and Paul Westfail did not go along well.
Vivek/FO: You are not thinking straight Mike. You've got to stop whatever it is you are smoking. We are going forward with Cousins with or without your blessing.

You keep spouting this. I don't know why. Your consistent attempts to smear Malone (which btw, has no point to this current discussion) is befuddling.

Here's a tidbit from that same article:

It's perhaps a bit easier to understand the reluctance to extend DeMarcus Cousins, as Malone hadn't really worked with Cousins at all at the time the extension was signed. And it certainly seemed that Cousins and Malone built a strong relationship during their time together. But Rudy Gay? An emerging theory is that the Kings waited to fire Malone until after Gay was extended, since Gay was such a fan of his coach. That Malone apparently wasn't on board is a real shocker.

What's your endgame? That we all of a sudden decide that Malone is the bad guy and give the FO a clean slate? Canning Malone after a ridiculously good start (by recent standards) just adds to the narrative that's currently being painted. It doesn't depart from anything else they've done since arriving in Sacramento, and that's in essence, alienating members of the fan base.

Just click the ignore button. You've read one post from PrinceXY, you've read them all. Literally, because he posts the same thing over and over and over again.
I feel the need to yin his yang. I can't help it.

if memphis wins it all this year which could be possible since there is no clear front runner... irritant and gerbil may try to go defense for once

“We had DeMarcus Cousins in Sacramento. We played through him all the time. Good things happen when you play inside-out. They got him the ball, he gets them into the bonus early, he gets to the foul line himself, and then that puts a lot of pressure on the Hawk defenders to have to worry about him, now that opens up shots for a guy like Bogdanovic, who came through, struggled in two games down in Atlanta, but he comes home tonight and has a big lift especially in that first quarter”.

Dear vivek

i hope you're watching the grizz and not your beloved pretty boy warriors. Some notes which you should have tattooed on your forehead before you meet with PDA and Vlade.

inside out play
defense wins championships
points in the paint
a strong identity built around team strengths
