Can someone find a link for this? On the TV news I think I heard that the meeting was canceled today and someone said the Kings will stay ONLY if the Anaheim deal falls through.
I want a link.

Go or Stay (preferably the later option), last night only solidified the fact that I'll love this team no matter what happens next.
I won't be able to still love the team. I know my nature and I will hate The Maloofs if they go through with this and I'll be hoping the whole thing fails and blows up in their faces. Not the most mature attitude, I'm aware, but that's how I roll. Hey, at least i'm honest about it, lol.
This is excatly the way I feel. I'm wondering what team I can root for after they leave. I'm down to two teams: Whoever is playing the Lakers and whoever is playing the former Kings!!!
Once The kings are gone, I wouldn't be surprised if much of my Laker hatred dissipated. The only reason I ever hated The Lakers was because they were Goliath to The Kings' David and there was the underlying Socal Vs. NoCal drama involved. if The Kings aren't in Sacramento anymore, none of that will matter any longer. The Lakers will be just another team to me at that point.
I'm pretty sure they could lobotomize me and I would still hate the Lakers.
The first team I followed were the Minneapolis Lakers but then their crazy owner, Bob Short, thought he could make more money if he moved the team to LA. Teams leave.
I'm pretty sure they could lobotomize me and I would still hate the Lakers.
As long as Kobe and Phil are still around there will be enough carry over effect for me to still hate them. But once those guys are gone and The Kings aren't in Sacramento, i just don't think I'd care any longer. I'd just hating the name at that point, all the reasons to hate would be gone.
As long as the Buss family is around that team and their colors are yellow and purple, I don't think I'll be able to let it go.
I'll always be a diehard fan, no matter what, and watch all 82 games unless work, school, or family interferes.
Maybe I'm in the minority here. No matter is they moved to San Jose, Anaheim, KC, or London, I'd still follow them closely, watch every game, and call them my team.
What I care about most is the product on the floor, the players, and coaching staff. Ownership is down the list, and not something I usually think about when watching games are talking about the team. I actually think the Maloofs are good owners, who'd stayy if they could, and are caught in a crapy situation with a crapy city council.
There are far worse owners in the league, and throughout sports, but if I was a fan of the team, and grew up with it, ownership wouldn't be reason enough for me to no longer be a fan, or even influence how much of a fan I am. I've been a fan of the Raiders for a long, long time, and hate Al Davis. But it has no influence on me being a fan of the team. I half jokingly wish he'd come down with some illness which forced him to sell the team.
I don't understand the mentality of, "if they leave, I'm done with the team, or I'm done with the NBA". I personally could never consider it.
Have you lived in Sacramento your entire life?
No. NY and the bay area. Have been in the bay area since 93, and have been driving up to Kings games ever since. Never been a GS fan.

I sure do; root for the "Kings," that is. I became a fan of the Kings because a guy who went to my high school played for the Kings when the team was in Kansas City. I care **** all about whether or not they leave Sacramento. Not only that, but having spent my entire childhood as a squid kid, and the first two thirds of my adulthood as a sailor, I've moved around so much that the local provincial mindset is an utterly alien concept to me... but, I do try to sympathize with the locals, as much as I can, nonetheless. How can you not understand why a lot of us local residents wouldn't want to be a fan after they move? You're not born and raised here like a lot of us. It doesn't really matter where they go for you. It sounds like you root for the "Kings" and it doesn't really matter what city is on the jersey.
This would suggest that you were never really an NBA fan in the first place...If they move, I'm pretty much done with NBA basketball.
What does "acting ghetto" mean, exactly?I've grown tired of the league anyway but I've stayed a fan just because I've been following the Kings since Day 1. I'm tired of all the players acting ghetto -- the tattoos, bad attitudes, disrespect, DUI's, no accountability, and the general lack of being good human beings. Obviously, this doesn't apply to every player but that's just the general feeling I get nowadays.
