Henry Bibby to get interview at request of son, Mike

I mean...no. He's a 66yr old career assistant (at the NBA level). I don't think I can ever recall one of those being hired as a first time HC.

Fortunately however this Joerger bomb makes the interview make a lot more sense.

I get that. And I wouldn't hire him either due to age and other factors. But to say he's not qualified is incorrect. That's all I was contesting.

And, yes, this Joerger news makes it come even more into focus.

Exactly. Saying otherwise show a complete lack of awareness.
Please.
If we ended up with Henry Bibby as our head coach you see what the reaction is, both here and NBA wide.
There won't be one person saying, "hey, the kings got themselves a quality coach with great credentials".
This isn't a coaching search with so/so candidates out there for the kings to choose from. Bibby being our selection would cement our status as a joke.

I think you're missing the point. Most agree HIRING Henry Bibby wouldn't be prudent. What they're saying, however, is that interviewing him (and all the others) didn't cost us a dime and may have actually been a very good thing since we didn't make a decision before Dave Joerger became available.

Bibby wasn't going to get the job. Nobody is arguing that he should. But simply because he isn't a top candidate doesn't then mean he doesn't have the proper qualifications and/or is an embarrassment to interview, as you seem to suggest.

I ask again, why didn't you protest the same way when Corliss was interviewed? Bibby has been an NBA assistant for the past few years just as he has, but has far more experience beyond. I get that age is a huge factor against, but age doesn't invalidate his credentials.

I don't want to get too excited about DE. There are still quality teams out there where he could land.

I can't give an unbiased answer on corliss. We know the williamsons. All ill say is corliss is a quality human being and I wouldn't complain if he were named. He's had a front row seat to this mess. He would know how to fix it.

Even after saying that, there are way more qualified candidates out there.

Hey, I love Corliss. He was my favorite player during his 1st stint here in Sac and remains one of my favorite Kings player ever. I totally agree with what you say about him.
