my friend just told me that you can get tickets that apparently don't allow you to have luggages (only carry-ons) at a really cheap price. does anyone know about these and how you can get them?

i really really would appreciate the info.

the deal is that i need to get way cheaper tickets so i could buy my brother one as well because my parents don't want him to be alone here when i leave and so i feel guilty. basically i want to buy him tickets but i can't afford to pay full price for it.

i don't know if i made sense. sorry if i didn't. it's just that i've been searching for tickets for hours and it's already 1:45 am.

Hmmm sounds interesting but I have never heard of tickets at that option. I use a web site called studentuniverse.com if you have a college email account you can get prety good rates there.

^^ yeah. interesting concept. my friend said she bought her ticket for about 700+ bucks. a regular ticket would cost at about 1400 bucks. so it's a big deal. if i could get those, i'd then get 2 for me and my bro.

anyway, i'll check out studentuniverse.com for now.

Let me know what you find out about the existance of the no luggage tix... I have to be honest and say it sounds like an urban myth (I study urban myths) but heck even if it's true it's great info!

ok. il let you know.

it was my aunt who told me about it actually. her friend recently went to the philippines cause she was fired from her job or something. she's a very reliable source but i'm not 100% sure about the numbers and such.

she also might've gotten tickets that much cheaper because of an off peak schedule? i wouldn't really know.

she (my aunt's friend) will call me tomorrow about it. it was already late when i found out about it so i'll have to talk to her tomorrow. i'll definitely let you guys know whatever i find out. it does sound too good to be true, but hopefully it's not. :)

celt, i got the info.

i talked to my aunt's friend and it's apparently not a myth.

they're called courrier tickets. basically, a courrier company will use your baggage space for their documents and so they give you flights for cheap. my aunt's friend said it's not bad and it's not hard. she also knows some people who did it already. it's completely legal but there are cons like the place of destination depends on them. there are only select destinations you can choose from. and the airports you'll depart from are select too.

kinda complicated i guess? you have to be flexible too. plus it's hard to book one with a companion unless he or she just buys a ticket at regular price.

i don't know. if you're adventurous, you should try it cause the tickets are really cheap. my aunt's friend told me she only paid 300 bucks roundtrip to the philippines. and a regular ticket costs about 1400 on average i guess.

another thing is there are no courrier domestic flights.
