it was either bush or probably no one else to draft at running back. The thing is i want to know why everyone is saying that they would draft bush even though they have a running back like domanick davis in houston's case or deuce mcallister in the saints case. I mean its stupid, the draft should go like this:

1. D'brickashaw Ferguson, tackle, Virginia
2. Matt Leinhart/Vince Young (we'll see after the rose bowl) QB's Usc/Texas not sure which one
3. Reggie Bush tail back Usc

That what should happen. good chance but probably wont. but i want Vince young to go to the raiders even though i don't like the raiders. It would be cool to see though.

Bush's talent is once in a dozen years- a guy as good as him isn't going to come along every year. That doesn't translate into immediate NFL impact, but seeing how the rookie RBs do every year compared to other positions, I'd say it's a good bet he'll do something great. A GM cannot pass that up, except to trade the pick for a load of other good players.

but they already have a really good running back. If it were to trade him for a bunch of picks or players, then i could understand but domanick davis shouldn't have to suffer for that crappy team and their horrible coaching, offensive line, and nervous quarterback.

After beating the Rams, the Niners had ZERO chance of the first pick. If they lost to Houston, the Saints would have picked first and the Niners 3rd based on strength of schedule. By winning, they ensured that Houston gets the first pick and have moved down to 6th or 7th.

Either way, the only way the 49ers could have gotten Reggie Bush would be through a trade. Barring a big surprise (slow 40 time, if he even runs or undiscovered injury scare) Bush will be drafted #1. Trading up to that spot will cost a ransom, whether it is up from 3 or from 6/7.

There is really no reason the Niners should have lost that game. After Bush, there's no impact guy that was worth tanking a game for. The Niners won't look at Leinart or Young after taking Smith #1 last year, and unless they really believe in Hawk or Ferguson (who I wouldn't mind), I don't think they cost themselves much in the draft. The boost in morale from winning the last two games of the season is worth more.
