Hayes is open to a trade !!

LAS VEGAS – It's no secret that the Sacramento Kings would prefer to move veteran forward Chuck Hayes and his remaining two-years, $11 million-plus salary.
A source close to eight-year defensive specialist communicated to CSNNW.com that Hayes is not opposed to a change of scenery and would welcome such a deal if it's the right team and situation.
The same source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity due to the sensitive nature of the situation, added that Hayes would not have an issue returning to Sacramento for his third season with the organization if it worked out that way.
His agent Calvin Andrew, when asked about his client's mindset Monday night in Las Vegas, refused to comment on the matter.
Hayes, 30, appeared in 74 during the 2012-13 campaign and averaged 2.7 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 16.3 minutes per game http://www.csnnw.com/article/source-kings-forward-hayes-open-trade I saw this article and just had to post it - LOL One can only hope!!!

Yeah, but who's the spoonful of sugar that helps the medicine go down? IT, most likely. Why else would anybody take that contract?

Nothing tastes sweeter than an Outlaw!

(Seriously though, IT is probably the right kind of deal sweetener.) Even as a rumor, this might be as definitive a statement as you're going to get from someone who wants to leave, outside of saying, "trade me." It might be the kicker we need to balance out the roster. I doubt we'll get talent in return, but hey, maybe a low level draft pick or some flyer on someone else in need of a change of scenery?

Hayes is one of my favorite UK alumni, however, he has let his weight ruin his career. He had to beef up a little post-college to be a muscle man inside. However, when the beef is ground Chuck, it doesnt work.

If he is traded, I wish him nothing but success. I have never met someone with a will to win stronger than his. If he had been born with a superstar body, he would dominate. However, he was not. I think he can still be a quality 3rd big on a team with a good defensive PF. My mind immediately goes to San Antonio.

I do not see anyone taking that contract without getting a good player. To move Chuck, we have to let go of someone like IT. I do not think anyone else woukd work.

Before the great dibs war of 2013 begins, I would like to call dibs on Christina Hendricks, unless Slim has already done so, in which case I call dibs on Elisha Cuthbert.

So wait...the news is that Chuck Hayes is amenable to a trade, if it's to the right team in the right situation, but he won't have a problem returning to Sacramento if that's the way things turn out?

Am I missing something? Hayes isn't in control of where he plays or under what conditions. He's not a free agent. He's not a key player. He's not a star. If the "source" on this story isn't his agent, it must be Hayes himself because it makes no freaking sense whatsoever unless he's trying to get his name out there.

Just another reason I hate TDOS. ;)

We cannot get rid of Isaiah Thomas right now. He's the only perimeter player we have that can actually penetrate in the paint. If he's gone, this team will be lucky to score 90 pts a game. Jimmer's got to be the sweetner.

my thoughts, exactly. who cares if chuck hayes is amenable to a trade? if he's traded, he's traded, and he'll have to suit up for whatever team the kings trade him to. that said, i'm skeptical the kings will actually be able to move hayes' contract for anything more than enders in the current market climate, regardless of whatever "sweetener" they might be inclined to throw in. you'd have to find a GM who really likes isaiah thomas, or you'd have to package hayes with a bigger trade headliner like marcus thornton if you want to get back a useful piece. all told, it's the big mystery of the 2013 sacramento kings offseason: how does the front office turn **** into gold? stay tuned...

Agreed.

there should be a separate thread for this. maybe in the lounge. in some kind of draft format possibly...

Yeah, but if IT is sugar, Jimmer is aspartame - kinda sweet but has a nasty aftertaste and leaves you filled with the knowledge you're trying to trick yourself into believing it's something it's not. That might not be enough to get someone to take the Hayes contract.

All of this. No one cares if he's open to a trade or not. It's not his decision.

The NBA, everyone!

You can get signed to the biggest deal of your career, come into camp overweight, play absolutely terrible basketball, and then have it be news when YOU are open to a trade. Thanks for telling us, Chuck.

I really think he could be a excellent fit in OKC, with his ability to pass from the high post to a cutting Westbrook, Durrant and Lamb and with Perkins being completely useless imo he would probably end up taking a lot of Perkins playing time.

If anything OKC should be looking for guys that can score more in the post. They already are full of bigs who can't score and are offensive liabliities, and that has been thier downfall at times.

I agree ( I actually think Landry on the Thunder would have been perfect)but at this point anything is better than Perkins and the little bit of playmaking Hayes can bring with his passing would not be the worst thing for the Thunder.

I am sure we would LOVE to trade this elite defensive anchor  but finding the sucker to take that contract is mission impossible! :(

Like many of us predicted when we signed him, this guy in the new Kenny Thomas aka flexible piece!
