Kingdom for a win !
----------------------------------------------------------------------
On Decenber 10th 2000 Kings beat Heat 101-97 to improve to 14-4 for the season. King had a horrible start in the game allowing the Heat a 40-17 lead after the first quarter. Heat lead as nuch as 24 pts. The bench mob driven by the ARCO crowd initiated a comeback as 7 Kings players ened up scoring in doublr digits. Bench mob outscored the Heat bench 36-17 and it wa enough for us to avoid an almost win. Webber lead the Kings with 19/10/1/5bl, JWill had 15/2/3/2st, DC had 13/4/5/4st, Hedo had 11/5/1/3st. Bench was awsome, lead by JB's 14/3/5, Bobby had 10/5/2/2st, and Scott had 10/8/2st. It was not a prety game but Kings made their FTs (28-31_ and forced 22 TOs.
"They were ready to get blown out," said Heat guard Tim Hardaway, who helped build the big lead by scoring 11 of his 25 points in the first quarter. "They did a good job of coming back and playing hard. They never quit. "We started turning the ball over and missing shots," he added. "Their second unit came in and made hustle plays and got the lead down to nine."
"It was a great defensive effort," Barry said. "After the firstquarter, to hold them under 100 points after they get 40 in thefirst quarter. Our defense was excellent and that's what it allcomes down to. That's the difference between this year and last year."

Kings record has been dropping lately as the temperature over night. Currently 8-10 as a courtosy of a season high 5 game "almost winning" streak. Standingwise - Kings are obeying gravity and when You look at them I suggest to turn the computer screan upside down. When You do that - Kings will be close to the top. Currently, only Sixers and Celtics can proudly match the magnitude of the losing streak. It has gotten so bad that even though Hawks are coming in town - there is that uneasy feeling, that sour taste caused by one of the Murphy's law versions. (everything that can go wrong - will go wrong). We need a win and it is pretty desperate.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bob Delaney - You know - I am not very good with names and it takes a while until I remember them but I never forget a face. Now, the retard that ignored a clear foul on Mike Bibby at the end of the game last night despite being 5 feet away - looked very, very familiar. So, I looked it up and - what do You know. He sure was one of the 3 robbers who called the game 6 in the 2002 WCF. No surprise there. I guess Mike can consider himself "lucky" that an offensive foul was called. I would have been a "logical call' since "elbow to chin" is a charge. And yes, I still hold a grudge.
Don't get me wrong here. Heat deserved to win the game way before the OT. They played better, they forced their tempo and the controlled us. However, we were down one and Mike went for a layup and appearently missed it horribly
. It wasn't even close to hit a rim. In fact - that was a worst layup that I have seen in a while. Wade didn't block it since the ball went up. I hate NBA double standards. If You can't get such a clear call at home ...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chemistry is very important part of a basketball team. One could argue that it is as important as the talent of the team itself. You can not be successful without having a great chemistry in the locker room and on the floor. It isn't easy to achieve considering the size of the egos the play this game. Good chemisrty can win You many games down the stretch. It involves knowing the roles on the team, having a game plan, trusting each other and believing in each other. The Kings at their prime had a great chemistry. Today's Kings simply don't have it yet and it shows by almost winning many games.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bad chemistry can be detremental for a team. Just look around the NBA and You can find several examples. We are not there yet and I sure hope that we don't get there but things just don't look right at the moment. There is no trust out there. The coach can't find a group of guys that he trusts enough to get a job done and he continues to experiment. The players don't seam to trust the coach just yet and they don't seam to trust each other much. Usualy, something like this takes time but also requires strong leadership. That is Vlade's contribution could heve never been put in numbers and stats.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
That brings us to the 5 game losing streak. Kings of old barly lost 2 in a row. Why ? Because great teams respond. When they lose bad, the next opponent is usuallu paying for it. As far as I remember we didn't lost 3 straight for 2+ years. And even then - it didn't feel right. Losing 5 in a row - yeah right. So we as fans got spoiled. We used to argue who needed to get more shots or more minutes or irrelevent things like that. Now we lost 5 in a row and that isn't what worries us the most because we know that it can get worse and we are not sure how bad it can get but we know that it can get really really ugly. We have got to win a game.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have watched TNT for 8+ years and CB never made any sense and I never liked him because he always found a reason to put Kings down in some way. Now, CB's recognition is not something that is needed but that constant negativity just went on my nerves to a point where he has 0 credibility left. Last night he finally made sense to me. He mentioned things that had a lot of painful truth in it. Sure, it was a frustrating and disappointing night and it probably wasn't the smartest thing to watch the postgame show at 2 am ET but I found myself agreeing with the "loudmouth." Let's face it - we aren't going anywhere and we aren't really close to going anywhere either. Other than Kevin - we have no one that we can look forward to develop into a great player. We have good players but no "go to guy" It is just a horrible mix on it's way to explode and considering the ingridiences it migh get ugly too.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kevin has still got to learn a lot. Now - his name is written on the board of every opposing team and he is closely guarded. It will be harder than usual. He needs to learn to be patient and not force things because that didn't go well last night and it won't go well in the future. Kevin will be fine but he also needs a support from the coach and his teammates. Unfortunately, there are so many other issues that everyone is occupied with that it may not be the main priority right now but we need Kevin to play well and the team needs to help him as much as possible. Boy, do we miss "coachie" or what ?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
So we played Heat and they got us in their ugly style game and we were dumb enough to fall for it and then we woke up just in time to force the overtime and then for no appearent reason we fell apart. Surely, we can go back to that bad call and say that we should have had 2 FTs for a win ot tie but when You lose - everythinh is going against You. So just stop almost winning already..

AWARD TIME
Well, the TDM award went to Jason Kapono who did the damage early in the game. Why the hell not ? Let's be an equal opportunity TDM award machine. Give it to everyone. On sale. Buy one - get one free, Everything must go etc...
LW-VC award goes to SAR who was useless in 19 minutes that he spend on the floor. In fact all I remember from his performance are 2 dumb turnovers
JHA award went to Jason Hart himself. Why ? Well in the boxscore there all all zeros next to his game.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hawks are next and ... I really don't know. Should we be able to win this - definitely but these days that isn't worth much. I think that the least we can expect is a good chance for an "almost win" again. We could use a blowout but let's face it - we don't even know the starting lineup.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kings startres, bench and "mateen" member and Muss - just win the damn game. I don't care how or what needs to be done. I don't care who plays, who scores who does what. I don't care about stats, offense, defense. Just win the damn game!!!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
hawks are young and that makes them dangerous if we don't jump on them. I haven't seen Hawks play this season and why would I ? I just looked at the roster and I don't know half of them. So, the TDM award will go either to Claxton or Pachulia. The LW-VC award will go to Joe Johnson courtosy of Ron Artest. When it is all said and done - Kings need this one and hopefully want this one badly enough.
