Greg Monroe?

Seems he is in a dog house in Milwaukee.

Did not follow him closely, would he make sense for Kings?
Maybe WCS and some salary filler (without breaking Cus/Rudy/Collison).

Yeah, I mentioned him back before the season, and the idea remains...well, more possible for us than most teams.

Joerger likes to play bigs, and scoring bigs, and at a slower pace. If ever there was an offensive comfort place for Monroe, it might be Joerger.

But on the other hand, Joerger likes to play defense, and of late has been striving to get more activity out of his team. Monroe is slow and not a high energy guy.

Skillwise Monroe has real post skills, AND he's a very good passer. you have Greg Monroe and you decrease your complete reliance on Boogie to do your big man scoring. If he's in foul trouble, if he's injured, you've got another option that can provide a lot of pop and run the offense with his passing.

But the problem is that Monroe has never developed much of a jumper. So spacing wise he doesn't provide any room for Cuz or Rudy. Really no more than Kosta does. And he has the defensive issues. And when not out there with Cuz, if he's your center, you don't have a defensive center, and given their identical non-ranges, I don't really know how he and Kosta could pair up.

The similar thought about Brook Lopez included less passing, but more range on his shot, and some shotblocking on defense.

Finally of course there is the $17 million contract. Like the Lopez thing, realistically the way Rudy is playing not in a million years would you trade him for Monroe even if Milwaulkee wanted him. So you have to wait for Afflalo to become available for trade in a few weeks, and then you have weakened the backcourt, which is already a place we go searching many nights.

Monroe would provide some things but I think we may be better off trying to upgrade our PG position. Koufos plays at least as good defense......we need upgraded backcourt play. DC is fine but Lawson has been a shaky fit.
