A+. We are a better team than we were when we were the 3rd seed.

No, San Antonio is not going to make the playoffs this year, and no, the Lakers are not going to be better than this Kings team all of a sudden. We have surpassed the Warriors in my opinion so if we face the Lakers in round one we will win 4-0 and will win 4-1 against the W's if we play them in the first round.

The Kings will win all of its games against the Lakers (except for 1 like last year), and they can say Sabonis is the most overrated player all they want. We will be contending for this title this year guaranteed.

B sounds fair enough to me and could very well be an A if Sasha ends up making a bigger impact than expected and the decision not to overpay someone to take the ball outta Keegans hands, with him potentially making an impressive leap building from that playoff experience.

Top of the list is the Sabonis extension. Sasha sounds like a good player, but probably more of a good bench guy. I can't get excited about the other additions yet until I see more of them. The Barnes contract makes him that easy to move, and hopefully Monte will find some value for him in the future. It's a good offseason, so I give a B.

Now if you include summer league in "the offseason," then I give the offseason a B+ on the sheer weight of Murray's performance. The absolute key to the upcoming season is Murray. Fox and Sabonis are constants. Murray is the X-factor. He looked fantastic in summer league. He looked stronger, aggressive, and confident. He's got much more room to grow to reach his ceiling, imo, and if he takes a good step upward next year then the Kings take a good step upward. If he doesn't, then the Kings should still be in the playoffs, but not as scary as with a Murray who people can easily see as a future All Star.

I gave it a C though incomplete.

We have in my opinion an unbalanced roster stocked with guys who are offensive first guys and stretch 4’s and 2’s. Now could we trade a stretch 4 shooter to Toronto for a 3 and D guy? Maybe. But currently this roster has too many guys with overlapping roles and no clear 3 and D stopper. The fact we traded our pick who fit this role moves it from a B to a C.

OMP rapidly joining the ranks of Anthony Randolph and Ricky Rubio in the “Random Guys I’ve decided that the Kings should have drafted and I’m convinced that not doing so is going to ruin this franchise forever” Hall of Fame.

At best, the dude would be fighting Kessler Edwards for a spot at the bottom of the rotation this season even if we had drafted him (and he literally has most of the same flaws that Edwards has). As it is, the guy probably isn’t even going to crack the Mavs rotation unless they go ten plus deep unless he figures out how to at least be a competent shooter from the perimeter.

Well to be fair if he were certain to gain an outside shot the grade would be a D or F. But some chance is better than a blank hole.

Whoa!

Warriors beat Kings. Lakers beat Warriors. Nuggets beat Lakers. Nuggets beat Heat.

An upcoming team needs to knock out the champ. It seems to me like the Kings have a ways to go.
