Not sure what you mean by this ....

Sounds like, he wouldn't be as productive as he is if it weren't for his teammates.

Isn't that team ball ???

Darius moves WELL without the ball ... he cuts to the rim when the ball is outside, he follows the shots/ball to the hoop, he trails the player with the ball to the hoop, he rolls with the player with the ball to either draw the pass or draw the double-team, he keeps the ball alive on the offensive boards.

I'm just PROPPING-UP Darius ... he's my boy !!!
Well it is team ball, but its also the definition of a roleplayer. Darius is dependable. But somebody else has to get him going. Not sure I can really recall a time when Darius Songaila really stepped forward and imposed his will on a game by himself. Nor do I expect him to BTW. Just goes to when trying to decide whetehr a guy had an A game or a B+. Brad made things happen. But did Darius really? Or did he just take what came his way and smothly convert it?

A lot of people get smoked by JRich. Still doesn't take away from the fact that he did though. Thanks for the grades Brick. Generally its the best insight I get about the game.

Okay ... I get where you're coming from.

He's not a "creator - sorta' speak" ....

He's "in the right place at the right time" ...

Given structure and an awareness of the players on the floor - on the offensive end, like you say, Darius is dependable.

Makes you wonder .... where is this guys skills gonna be in a couple of years.

Does he have "what it takes" to "take over a game" ... time will tell.

While I agree with your B+ for Darius, I think sometimes your criticism of him is a little tough. He is after all not a superstar, but only a roleplayer, yet he has managed to fill some pretty big shoes satisfactoraly. Also he often plays man to man defense better than Webber or Brad. But I do enjoy your grade posts.

Got smoked by JRich was the problem.
Not true. JRich got 5 touches when Kevin was guarding him. Kevin stopped him on 3, and he dribbled by him twice.

'Smoked' would be an apt characterization for 2 of the 5 times Kevin defended JRich when he had the ball. Martin did well in the other three moments of truth. I'll take 3 outta 5 on a guy that ultimately went off for almost 40 points.

But then there's also the times where JRich didn't get the ball when he was defended by Martin. I didn't note how much JRich was just out of the flow on other possessions versus Kevin doing something defensively to deny him the ball.

'Smoked' would be an apt OVERALL characterization for Evans' defensive play last night, though.

The Kings would have lost that game if it wasn't for Adelman switching to the zone defense.

Team Grade A-
Thanks, grinchwine!

:D

That's exactly the grade I would have given had I been here.

What a game...

Eddie House and Kevin Martin drive me nuts.

"Fast" Eddie loves to shoot, despite seemingly not realizing he's off (2-7 tonight). Woulda given him a lower grade.

And Kevin...I dunno. He's been settling for the three latley, which isn't his specialty, and before that he was forcing drives into the teeth of other teams defense. I want to see him go midrange, as thats where I believe his game would excel.
Comments totally inappropriate.
