Collison most consistent throughout and considering Rondo out he was critical. Curry sizzling early and hot hand desperately needed to keep Kings charging in first half. Gay was inconsistent but still had overall good game almost blowing it near the end, then redeemed himself to seal Kings W. DMC was disengaged for some reason but bigger story was other two superstars on OKC likewise not exactly at top flight level tonight. Nice to cap off big celebration with the win as another collapse would have just been soggy miserable.
 
This season has been so weird. We could have easily swept the season series with OKC and yet we got swept by the Wolves. Huh?

I was really glad to see Collison shake off a couple bonehead plays and get back in there and come up so clutch in the end. What a ballgame - who would have thought that the last game at Arco would prove to be one of the better games I've seen over these last 18 years or so.
 
It's amazing the difference in the outcome of a game depending on the way the ref's whistles blow.

I am constantly amazed whenever some clueless people actually believe "The refs don't determine the outcome of the game - the whistles even out in the end."

It COMPLETELY matters what way the refs call the last few minutes of close, competitive games.
If they don;t blow that call awarding 3 FT's to Westbrook, the game is over.
Likewise, if they don't award Rudy FT's at the last second (on a play where there was less contact than the majority of Kings' drives this season), it goes to OT.

The refs dominate the last minutes of close games, and anyone who doesn't recognize that tragic fact (and the implications of superstars and the entire NBA marketing machine) is simply delusional.
 
^^^ It's en vogue to label those that are critical of the refs as sour grapes or making excuses. However, the truth is the truth. Games are often decided by the crews that officiate them.
 
Nice game. I love Colloison. We need to give him a raise and a nice contract. Cousins looked out of shape, tired and did not seem to have his heart in it. Really I hope I no longer have to look at him.

OKC had 21 turnovers and Sac only 11. OKC 75% freethrow and Sac only 55%.

Not bad with no Rondo and Cousins with an off night.

After it was clear that the team was in tank-mode, this was the only win I was begging them to get. I'm glad they got it.
 
Terrible game from Cousins. But the occasional terrible game doesn't mean he is expendable for this franchise.

I really like Curry. But he is a bit undersized and not very quick. When it comes to the overall skillset he is the most well rounded guard in Kings uniform, but due to his physical limitations he seems to be unable to punish switches on the pick&roll. And when we finally want to establish a successful contemporary playstyle being able to get easy shots on pick&roll switches is a must have.
I fear that without this skill Curry will be limited to a spot up shooter role.

Why are you always "that guy" who complains about the refs? We won the game. Get over it.

Depends on how you feel about the big fella. He's been injured all year long but hasn't complained about it once. He's going to be run out of town. That's what this town does. Peaches has the masses all riled up already.
 
Thanks Brick for your notes and analysis. Great evening, great win. A lot of good team play and contributions from most everyone. Encouraging for the future. Also a nice look and last look at how it is. Our future s unknown but it's in good hands with Vlade and Ranadive.

The off-season is like a game - 16 careful steps and you finish the game. If some of those steps turn out to be special we may improve the team and it's performance. Good luck.
 
On a negative note concerning this game and others recently, I disliked the resting of players particularly Rondo in last night's game. I see it as Vlade and Ranadive tanking and I don't like it. The team on the floor hasn't been tanking but the FO has been and is. Bad business.

While I agree with you that, sans injury, every player should have played last night, I'm not sure how you can view it as "tanking". They freaking played their @$$e$ off and won the game. If they had lost or looked dispirited, I would understand the POV. But that didn't happen.

As I said the players were not tanking and haven't been but the FO was by holding players out. I don't like it. Not good for the game.

Someone on the radio said that if the Kings had won even half the games they lost against these bad teams (well, excepting the Blazers, who improbably aren't bad), the Kings would be in playoff contention like many of us expected. So puzzling, and so frustrating.

That home double OT vs Hornets... riding a 5 game winning streak... that was it. They take that one and who knows... maybe they do it. When DMC made that big strong move at the end of the game that was switched by the refs from virtual game winner to "offensive fouls and 6th personal foul"... that was it.

It was indeed, blatantly, the turning point of the season. Rarely do you get so clear of a one, on Cuz's career night, on a roll, closing in on .500 and #8...then it all fell apart.
